Tutorial, how's this look?...Trainers?
« on: December 12, 2008, 03:23:09 PM »
I've had some time off lately, so I decided to try making a "training Tutorial" of sorts. This one is done in flash using screen shots from the game. It's NOT complete, and a bit rough around the edges, but you can get the general idea of where I was going with it. I have maybe about 3 hours in this one now, and it is still under 1 meg in file size, finished, I'd say it would be just a bit over 1 meg.

Take a look and let me know what you think. Is this something worth doing? I know my audio isn't this best, and I have a bit of an accent, so there is no need to comment on those  :D It does need some "cleaning up", but hey Check it out!

Your off to a very good start. Actually the voice seemed fine to me, bit of an accent, but certainly pleasant and easy to comprehend.

Next projects could be

A how to fly with a mouse? (What makes it go up or down?)
B How do I make it go? (sitting on the runway, engine on, but it won't move)
C Setting up views (I keep losing sight of the enemy, then he kills me)
D Basic tactics  (Immelman, split S, rolling in the vertical to change direction, etc)

Good Stuff Fugitive, keep it up please.
In fact can you clone yourself 3 times so you can work on this 24/7?

Well being laid off at the moment I should be able to get a few done. The only real problem I see is first I have to learn these things like "how to make it go" and such before I can figure out how to make a tutorial for it!  :huh

Having a list from a trainer does help in I'm sure those are the first things they run into with a new guy. If I could get some "scripts" I could edit to match the picture I put together would help a lot. Any writers out there?  :)

I'll keep working on them as long as I have time to kill.
