AXIS AAR Frame 3
« on: December 20, 2008, 12:30:06 AM »
<S> all AXIS players you all really made the effort and pushed hard.  Couldn't have asked for any more.   :salute

Plan was to secure the center of the map with maximum air power (80 AC) and then control it through the entire game.  With center secured then push the strike packages (80 AC) through the hole to and from targets.  Next use the air power in the center to kill all the ALLIED GV bases (hangers) and use the downed pilots to take the bases under a cover of German flying iron.  I only placed light defenses at my rear bases (40 AC).  262s (24) where used to scout and as hunter killers.

I think we did a good job of securing the center for the most part.  We didn't distroy the VH's like I wanted to or as quickly.  We did make the largest Tiger assault in the history of the FSO I am sure from V224 to V100.  My count was at least 50 Tigers in mass (what a sight).  The defenders at V100 got steam rolled fairly quickly and the base was taken.  Also we hit 234 and took that as well.  The big push went to V231 and while that attack was under way we took 239.  Just didn't have the time to get 231 and the fact that the hangers stayed up really hurt us in the end.

All in all a fairly well executed plan.  We took loses but achieved our objectives and capturing 3 out of 4 targets was more than I thought we would do.  We did lose a GV base just before the end (236 I think).

I'm not sure the points will be with us but I am very pleased with the performance of our side.  Hey in real life "they" didn't win either.

Again <S> to the AXIS side players.  Could not have asked for a better last frame on the last FSO of 2008.  WTG all.  Thanks to all of the squad CO's for carring out the orders and using your initiative to win where you could.

I opinion is that we have a winner here in how the FSO can incorporate GV's.  Its fun, it keeps guys in the fight longer, and its fun which is why I pay my money :)  I'm sure you will tweak the set ups and rules in the future but this is the 80% solution.  <S> to the CM team.

Nothing like driving 15 miles only to get single-pinged by a Sherman you're looking right at but STILL can't see anyway against all the clutter....
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

<S> Viper61

I liked your plan, it was even historic in that it had all the desperate qualities that German plans did at the stage of the war.

The Shermans really blend in well in the terrain.  Even the default which is the only one that matters anyway since one can turn off enemy skins.

The poor Tiger default was a beacon of "Hey you, come over here and kill me."

Great work by the CM team <S>

If we just had 5 more minutes for the M3 to arrive we would have taken back 234 as well.
