cv command
« on: January 07, 2009, 12:09:24 PM »
I dont think its right that a out ranking member can take your command of a cv,what just because
someone has good numbers that makes them a tactition.Sorry it ant so. [buzurdteeth]= hazerdley

How about only giving cv command to players with a score above crap and leave command to them untill they give it up and if that leaves me out so be it but to run the carrier help take a few bases and then loose command to someone who ant thinking so he can just losse it is crap.

generally it seems to work backwards, the guy with the low numbers runs it into a base fully up.

LOL ahh the green water sailors.  :D
Too bad you can't detach the CA and a couple of DDs to get in close and unload the LVTs allowing the CV to be kept a reasonable distance from the beach.

I just make a mad dash to the SB and ORD and hope I get there before the CV is a new reef. I have no clue how to keep CV's out of the hand of idiots besides an IQ test before given command.

Snailman, a possible alternative might be to allow a player to "buy" command away from someone, with perk points. For example lets say you take command of C16 (you being a much better player, naturally out rank me  :)  ). But I go into the Task Group window and input the amount of perk points I'm willing to risk to take command. Before the game removes you from command, you have the option to put a larger amount of perk points in to keep command.

So in my example above I offer to take command for say 500 points, you can then either give up command or put in 501 points to keep control. And if you have command of a CV when it sinks you loose the points.

It's just an idea, and there are some things that would still need to be worked out, but its an alternative to what we currently have.

dude....THAT is a good idea.
which perks would it use though?

i'd also say that if it sinks up to 15 minutes after you give up control, you still lose em, unless someone elst took it from ya. this would help prevent someone running it to the badguys, then getting out.

As Lusche said I dont see many alternatives, at the same time, I think changes should be made somehow.

Maybe an alternative would be to base control on seniority in the game. That way AH can reward its longer term customers especially since a lot of veterans dont really care about rank. Maybe give a time limit of keeping control of the boat that nobody can take it away from you in that time.

Its not that big a deal to me. I find myself using CVs less and less due to some of the antics of a few players. Mostly I fly from them if my squad is using it. Ive seen high ranking guys turn it when were launching a mission, "just to be cute", and a few others must want to get them killed on purpose. One uses them just to support his C-hog vulching.

Between all that drama and the Lanc-stukas, the up-launch-tower 40x PT boats...ect Im just kinda tired of the whole CV scene.
