i did, it still caused me to warp.
If it isn't running, it won't cause you to warp.
Just how did you set it up so it wasn't running?
Did you turn off the Service?
Run a program such as HiJackThis to make SURE it isn't running?
You can't blame a program that isn't running on warping, as that makes zero sense. If it isn't running it would have zero impact on your system (except as was allready posted re: HD space) It has to be running and doing something to cause your connection to be unstable.
