Was accidentally put in Aircraft and Vehicles first...
Been thinking, HTC should try something like a completely different arena that's new. Call it something like "Atoll"
Basic:Basically, this is how it goes down, still Bish/Rooks/Knits, I'd prefer two, as it's easier to think of it as two sides.
-Make a medium sized map, and make tons of little islands on them. Make it, where it takes up to 50 troops to take large islands, and 10 troops for small islands. As in it's like an "island hopping" strategy.
To Actually completely capture an island, you have to land troops from shore, and take the base, but it's not completely over yet. Wherever the "front line" is for that field (basically, a vehicle spawn about X miles away from the base), is where the enemy can still spawn on your island. BUT, there's only a limited # of spots, and if you die, you can re-up, but when the spawn limit is up for that spawn, you just start spawning into water off shore like any other base there.
On Large islands, there can be as many as 3 air bases on them, 2 Small and 1 Large, on the Small, you can only up fighters and medium bombers (B-25C/H, Ju88s, Ki67s... etc), and on Large bases, you can up it all. The small bases will need to be close to the shore, to in a sense, protect from the invaders. There'll be two shore batteries to each part,
and 2 3'' guns on the shore at certain key points. The 3'' guns can be taken down with just strafing fire, but the shore batteries are the same as they are in the MA's. For these, since there's 3 airbases, there's 6 vehicle bases on them. 1 on the edge of the shore on each side, and 1 between each air base.
Now, for the next part of this: -Instead of having 1 supply barge supply it every 15 minutes, you have supply convoys come in from ports. These are like the realistic WW2 ones, and they can be escorted by destroyers or cruisers. (I am unaware of the historical amount the normal supply convoy had with it regarding actual military ships) These also have mannable guns, but are like strat factories, so will build up the bombing score. Now, these supply ships also have radar, so they can detect oncoming planes as well on country. You cannot take out the radar on this thing though, until you damage/sink every ship. You also cannot control it like CV waypoints, so as to keep people concerned with score from parking them off shore of an enemy base as well, they just naturally head there.
Now, what happens if supplies don't reach the place your trying to get them to? Well, lets say, the first 2 times (don't know how this could have affected them in real life, so I'm just throwing out numbers here) that the convoy doesn't reach it, the perks on perk planes double, if 2 more don't make it, planes with an ENY of 5 cannot up at that base, and each time one fails to return, the ENY goes up 2.5 points after that, instead of straight up 5 after two chances. Now, after it gets to 25 ENY, it will not go up any further than that, it'll stop at I guess, 24, so you can up 25 ENY planes+.
Now, what about FH's and BH's and what not? You can still bomb these, but it takes twice the ord, but you get twice the points for it as well, hopefully, this will be a GV filled enviroment as well, for base defense and retaking a base, and Gv'ing for the sake of GV'ing.
Bombers should always have their hands full, especially for the bigger squads who like to take bases. To completely take this base, you must have many troops.
I also think this could be a good time to implement different types of radar corresponding to the size of the base you're trying to take. If it's a small base, you could send an NOE over there like normal, and take it. But for the bigger bases, the dots will still show up even at NOE, and the best way to take it is to go in at high alt, demolish everything, and come in quick and swift.
So, I think I covered it all, I hope it makes sense. What do you guys think?
