Why are they staying?
« on: January 15, 2009, 01:09:53 PM »
How many "old-guard" are not leaving AH?  My own squad has two: Syko @ 9 years, & Bustr who has been around AW & AH 12+ years (maybe even before they invented planes, maybe even before dirt was invented-LOL).

Our squad has a quite a few (ghi, alka, slammer, busher, joker, ext.), and we are having a blast most every night. I hope these guys (and Gal) aren't going anywhere!

10 years here.  And gameplay is much worse than it used to be.  It's the people I've known over that span plus the rare good fight that keeps me here.

I love this genre. I've been doing it for 18+ years and I would never leave. I constantly read about WWII Combat Aviation, I write about it. I study the strategy and tactics of it. AH is an elegant virtual representation of it, with something for everyone. Sure it could be improved and expounded upon. But, it is very easy to read about WWII air combat in the afternoon and play AH in the evening and experience the connective tissue between the two in a visceral and compelling way. That is why I've always played, why I play now and will continue to play for until the day I die. I look forward to the day we are all dogfighting while wearing bio-feedback suits and VR goggles.  :rock

I stay because after wadding through all that crap, you find a good fight now and then, and after all, thats what its all about.

Not much really.  Only decent fight I've had in a bit was a p38j vs SkatSr's P51b, I was surprised he stuck around for the fight as I've heard he has a "picky" reputation but 1 good fight out of dozens of encounters is mighty sad.

Please try to stay on subject Bongaroo.  Not sure what relevance your comment has to this thread Sir.

Love WWII AC and this is the only game that has satisfied my expectations. The amount of ac in the game is great and the fact I can jump in a GV, SB or the various types of ACK is awesome.

i am still riding out my 2 weeks lol but my squad keeps me around for the most part. all the online friends i have made on here are always a good reason. i dont tend to have a problem finding a good fight. if it starts to look like a horde night i fly to a base and start a fight. if i dont laugh too much i will up a 262 and fly thru hangers till i blow up just so i can laugh. for me its all about what you do to make this game fun. Salute all been kicking dirt for 7-8 years on here and i am still having fun
