2 ugly 109s in action vs B-17s :)
« on: January 21, 2009, 02:18:45 PM »
Unedited ar altered at the moment, 1024x768 size I made for use as wallpapers. I'll be doing some "tinkering" tomorrow, but I was happy with the starting pictures and figured I'd share.

Both taken in the AvA, me in the 109s attacking the B-17s. First is an external of a  high side run in a clean 109G2, the second is ashot from the B-17 pilots seat as I'm recovering after blowing up the lead bomber and raking the drone. I love getting in close.  :t

Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Turn on Anti-aliasing (at least for when you are taking the screenshots).  It will eliminate the jagged edges in the photos.

Turning on AA Anti-aliasing will eliminate the "stair-step" effect on edges.  Here, this is what the difference is on a small scale:
Going from high setting with Hi-res pack: No AA to 16x AA (Highest).  Using a GeForce 7900GS GPU.

NO AA

FULL AA

Not a good idea if you have a low-end system.

That all depends on a few things Weaz.  Assuming your card can handle it, maker of the card, if you have the software.
But so as not to hijack this thread, it would probably be best to either PM someone about it, or contact Skuzzy or start a thread in the Hardware section. :)

Well since AA takes a big hit on the graphics card, you will need a decent one.  Just be sure you have one that can handle it (GeForce 6800 maybe/7900/8600 and up/9xxx series, for a full list of supported card ask Tech support).  Assuming you use Nvidia, you should have an application called "Nvidia Control panel" in the Control Panel (Start>Control Panel), or one called "NTune".  If not it can be acquired here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/ntune_5.05.54.00.html .

Once that is installed or you already have one of the two applications, just open it and Click the "Standard view" and selected "advanced view". go to "Manage 3D settings", find the drop down box with the list of games, select Aces High.  There will be quite a few settings, but Anti-aliasing and Anisotropic filtering are two to try.  If you want to, turn on the top four options, just be sure you Video card handles it.  For AA and ASF I would start with 2x or 4x, if the games runs fine you can go uo from there.

Just remember this is if you have a good Nvidia Video Card; this is not to be tried on a Built-in/on-board Video card, low-end card or an ATI card.  If you use ATI, someone with that brand of card will need to help you.

I do not believe you have to worry about turning on ASF with Aces High as I believe the game does not support it (as per a thread a long time ago that I can't search for).

The game itself does not have FSAA options, however if you go into your video card settings inside windows, you can turn it on for all things (not just AH), and you WILL notice the difference in-game.

You may feel the hit, too, depending on your performance specs.

P.S. Who's calling those 109s "ugly"?!?!?
