« on: January 30, 2009, 01:51:20 AM »
During an address lookup with Google Earth the cops found a corn field with pot growing in the middle of it. I tried looking for it and could not find it. Maybe google updated or something. If you locate it post the coords:

what the growers are doing wrong in they grow the maj. in large clumps.  Way to easy to find.  The news way to hind it is put them in flower pots and hang them in the trees.  they are scatter and blends well that they are hard to spot on ground or air.

HAHA, my roomate just texted me about this.

As said before grow quality for yourself indoors and keep yourself out of the black market.  If only enough people would realize all the crime surrounding weed is actually because of the money involved due to its illegality.

Grow it indoor, but how are you to keep light on it?

Law enforcement agencies are now subpoenaing electric bills.  If a bill is waaay out of whack, much higher than comparable bills for that area, they suspect an indoor grow operation due to all the extra required lighting.

They'll also use Thermal Imaging Cameras much like Fire Fighters do scanning the outside of the house to see rooms that have a higher amount of heat from lamps with a warrant of course.

I was going to say that.  Yep, cop are going high tech to get these pot growers.

Another funny act are these drug traffickers.  On I-70 between Goodland and Hays, and I-80 around Karney, these traffickers get caught.  the way the trooper catches them is quit simple. They are going 10-20 mph faster than speed limit. Cal. or AZ. plates.  Vehicle full of fastfood trash. Eyes are blood shot. And if they have a road Atlas map, you will most likely find the areas with a circal in red and saying "do not drive in these places".

I've had police knock on my door twice after doing flyovers of the area using FLIR, and after looking at our electric bill. Ask me politely if they could inspect the premises, and were a phone call away from procuring a warrant.  I've been aware that this happens with large coral tanks in private residences, so I said "Go for it." They walked into my living room, and saw the 180 gallon reef tank that is built into 6 feet (4 metal halide bulbs @250 watts each,  plus another 500 watts of power compacts) of my living room wall, oogled at my fish and corals, for 15 minutes, and turned around and walked out the door.

Why they had to do it twice, is beyond me.  Guess they liked my corals.

No offense but you should really make them get the warrant.

They've found some very large grow operations doing this but for a small personal grow the 500 watt power pull isn't going to trip a red flag.

If they have the warrant you've already messed up somewhere else...
