I used a hardware keylogger called 'Keykatcher' when I was monitoring what my nephew was doing online.

I shrink wrapped it to the cord for the keyboard, even if he found it, I would know if he played with it.

Simple solution... go into BIOS and PW the machine before it will boot.  No snooping

Or a Windows logon password?  The last 3 mainboards I owned only offered a password into the BIOS, not for a general boot.

One thing to consider if you have a Webcam may be Motion activated Security.  Two I have are BananaFace and Dorgem.
BananaFace is a Facial Recognition to access the computer.  Dorgem is a program that will take a picture of someone accessing your Computer by using the webcam to snap a photo using motion activation.

One Keylogger I have seen, is ReFrog, it seems to do what you wanted, but it is a 14 day trial, and cost 40$ fir full program.  After trying it a little tonight it seems decent, and fully hidden.

Yeah I saw ReFrog.

Also no, I don't have a web cam hooked up to it.
I'll have to try this ReFrog thing out, I know a lot of the Keyloggers out there are scams so I'm trying to be careful.

Well after using using ReFrog, I didn't see it anywhere on the taskbar or task manager, was hidden well.
It keeps logs very well.  I had it open when typing a message here, viewed logs and it was recorded word for word, no errors.
It says it can take pictures, unsure of it means the people or the screen, but it has the option.

To open it you have to know it is installed, as you have to go to Start>Run>Program-name.

I have not seen any spyware warnings pop up from Spybot S&S, AVG, Windows or Ad-Aware, so it seems safe.

No, I have a feeling someone on my gaming computer is doing a little snooping around, not sure what for, but I'd like to find out what. No I'm not stealing anything.

Why does he have to give info. It kinda is a straight foward question. I would think its the individuals business and not mine.

I am still wondering why in our forums some would instantly suggest a member was trying to get the keylogger to steal? Sheesh you guys should be ashamed of yourselves.

Can I borrow your SSN and your bank account information?  I need it for a project.  Promise.

What references do I have of this persons character other than what he types on the intardnet.  I don't know them in person so what makes you think we should automatically trust anyone on these forums?

WOW that is a statement from one without kids..I HOPE..

KAM

Porn never caused me any harm. If I had kids as long as they weren't looking at really weird watermelon or filling my computers with viruses I'm not sure I would care.

A teenage boy is going to fap no matter what you do. Looking at some gash on your computer screen isn't going to change anything.

Because a keylogger will reveal none of what he stated he is concerned about. Back under your rock please...

I just noticed when I got home today there were a few windows open in various folders on my HDD's. Don't know what they're looking for, but 3 other people have access to it.

Simpliest solution: Create user accounts to all three persons and make your own folders private through ntfs security. No more snooping.

You still havn't answered the question.... what are you afraid they will find? If your not afraid because you didn't hide anything, then why worry about it in the first place. If it is "your computer" not moms or dads and your in a house other than your parents or guardian, like with roommates and such then you may have reason to lock down your computer.

Kamori, I have two sons, neither got to take his computer out of the family area untill they were over 16. Both of my sons know that I will follow through with my discipline and rules as well. I too have met the parents of my kids friends. Being a parent not only means we must "protect" our children, it also means we must teach our children right and wrong, and then we must...at some point let them fly and TRUST them to do what is right. By the time they were 16 both, in mine and my wifes opinion had earned the "privilege" <--- note the word there... to move their computer into their rooms. The idea that they may hide stuff, or would let their friends hide stuff would never cross their minds because they had been taught what was right, and the consequences should something go wrong. I agree that there is a lot of poor parenting out there, but rest assured it didn't happen in my house. I hope that you too continue to watch over yours, but remember trust is a two way street even when it comes to kids. If they earn it, you have to give it.

I don't have anything to hide to my knowledge, but I'm not sure since it was quite random. Maybe they think something that I'm not thinking of, not entirely sure.
