What one (1) bird would be your pick to do EVERYTHING in the game.

Intercept, escort, furball, Jabo, bomb.... everything.

One bird, not one type, no XYZMk I and MkII and MkIII to do more things better, just one plane.

Any ability has to have been at least been factory built and tested, no "they could have tried...".

I'd have to say P-51D, although the P-38 and P-47D-30 give it a run for its money.

The "escort" requirement is the backbreaker.  With one blow it basically invalidates all non-US, non-Japanese aircraft.

Give the N1K2-J its 1000lbs of bombs and it would be in the running as well.

But, the single answer to the question is, in my opinion, the P-51D.

The one I think it would be better, or the one I'd like to fly in those roles?...

If it is the one I think it would be better...I'd go with the Tempest MkV. Wonderful multi-role plane, can do almost everything and do it well.

If it is the one I'd like to fly, the Fw190G8. Fitted with MW50, with no stinkin' cowl MGs. Fast, agile, and with incredible loadout options, it will be still a wonderful fighter.
You can say that it would lack on the buff killer role as it would have 2x20mm only, but well...you still can put a couple of those MK103s for tank busting and use them for buff killing   .

Karnak, you say this because the range?... sorry to burst your bubble, but the Fw190G8 could carry both wing and centerline drop tanks, and had extra large range for a Fw190A...maybe not so much as a P51D with drop tanks but enuf to be a good escort plane, dont worry

RAM,
I was under the impression that we had to select from aircraft that were already in AH.

The Spitfire FR.MkXIV's had a rear fuselage fuel tank and I have read that some had fuel bladders in the wing roots.

That would be preferable to the P-51D, IMHO.

Corsair can be all things for although the P-51 is the obvious choice..it's a bit too easy to hole on the jabo, but for axis..the FW190

F4U is the best all round AC in AH right now, no question about that.

Hi All,
Mosquito,
This was used for everything, there was even a carrier version of the FB VI.

(If restricted to the game only though - Not how I read it but)......

P47D-30

Nice G-8 fantasy RAM has going there...

The F4U-1C is the multirole king of AH. It has alot of: powerful guns, ammo, fuel, speed, radial engine durability, bombs, rockets, blue paint, whines, and it has a tailhook for carrier ops.

Hi

Prolly P51 from the planes we have here, althogh the damn chog might be better due to it guns-however i dont consider chog a real plane anymore so it has to be P51. It has speed, range, good guns, decent ammo, good loadout, can run on oil damage for a very long time, has great high speed handling and manuver, and has good visibity. I honestly cant think of any ww2 plane that was so good at doing so many things, yes various spit, 190, corsairs, 109s,47s were better in one or 2 specific ways but none were as good and capable overall as P51.

thanks GRUNHERZ
