I believe that everyone knows about these recurring issues popping up. I’ve read thread after thread about vista issues and have tried them all to no avail :[. I’m frustrated, and just want to play the game.......any help to fix the problem would be greatly appreciated.... My computer system is a 2 gig ram with a 32 bit vista home premium operating system with an AMD dual core processor.... Apparently as skuzzy has pointed out the problem stems with the AMD dual core but I’ve tried switching the compatibility to windows 98 and I’m still having the spinning clipboard that changes colors and all. All the help with the patch only works for xp users so I’m stuck in a rut at what to do. Is there anything I can do?? Also sometimes if I time it right I can get the clipboard when it’s white but then when i try to fly, the game freezes.....grr it’s very frustrating. Hopefully someone has an answer........ :cry   thanks for your time

First of all make sure you do not have it installed in the default location. I believe you cannot just move the game to another folder but you CAN install the game again to another location and then copy and paste all of your files to that folder.

Second right click on the shortcut you use to start the game and then choose the Compatibility tab and make sure you run it in 'Windows 98/Win ME' mode (in the Compatibility mode area the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' is checked).'

If you still have problems you want to also set the Privilege Level for the program to 'Run this program as an adminstrator.'

If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Chalenge pretty much hit all the nails on the head.

You might want to email ina DXDIAG output as well, just to see what kind of video chip your computer has in it so adjustments to the game's settings can be done.

ok...well we shall try this and see what happens..... when i re-download the file instead of putting it in my folder where should i put it?? Should i just create a new file folder for games and if i do, should it be out of my files or exactly where should i make or create it?? and yes ive gone under the compatibility tab and put windows'Windows 98/Win ME' and administrator... which the same problems.. hopefully re downloading the game should help...thnks for the help

I have been battling with this ever since I got my new computer. AMD Dual Core 5000+ & Vista. I've done all the tips and settings but I still get a sawblade looking net stat and warps like crazy. I'm constantly being accused of warping on purpose when I try to fly. I called Skuzzy and he told me there were too many processes running and that was causing the problem. I'm down to 40 (sheesh!) and have no idea what else is safe to kill.

I've studied the CPU usage and think I see what is wrong. The AH program is using 100% of one core. This is odd since my old computer with XP had a much smaller processor (1.2 Gig) and didn't come anywhere close to using 100% of the CPU.

I gotta tell you this is beyond frustrating.

The game is supposed to use 100%.  DirectX is designed to do that.  Worry if it falls less than that.

If these are laptops, it is imperative you disable any power management.

Brand new iBUYPOWER desktop. I wish I had known about the AMD problems with AH. I would have chosen Intel instead. But, I didn't research it. Never had an AMD issue before.

You can put it anywhere but NOT in the C:\Program Files\ tree... instead I changed the tree to read C:\Program Folders\ when the AH installer asked for a location. You can do that or change it to something you like.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Make sure you do not have the operating system set to put anything to sleep or screensavers running.

Something is messing with the high resolution CPU clock.

n/m. I reinstalled Vista and deleted all the "fixes". Work takes priority over gaming.

I should have been clearer when I edited that. I could'nt get my PDA to sync anymore and couldn't fix it. I had to reinstall so I could sync and d/l files again. I'll just have to live with the sawblade connect.
