The German "fighters" were actually 4-seat Messerschmitt 108 "Taifuns," painted to look like Me-109 fighters

Knew that when I was eight (the year the movie came out), but thanks. Might as well mention The Great Escape, Von Ryan's Express, The Longest Day, ad infinitum.... But they could have been Nord Pingouin's or 1000's (another big snooze of an airplane). Great airplane, in the right hands it could outrun a Tiger Moth.  :rock

Yeah, I believe he's wearing it when he kills the guy from West Side Story

You know, the only Mossie I've ever seen up close was @ RAF Duxford back in '87. Care to guess what color it was painted? Silver

Can you appreciate the irony in that?  :lol

This guy from Crocodile Dundee was in the movie actor John Meillon.

Thought I would throw it in because it is useless information just like this post.

Some truly corny lines in that film: "You can't kill a squadron."
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

I have a follow-up useless question... if you were a Hindu pilot, wouldn't your turban rub on the canopy?

You're thinking Sikh, not Hindu.  Hindus don't have a dress code.

Buddy Ebsen was in neither 663 Squadron nor Crocodile Dundee.  In this picture he looks alot like John Meillon.  I think it's the hat.

I watched Attack!! yesterday and Buddy was in it with Jack Palance and Eddie Albert.  He wouldn't drink with someone he didn't respect.
