I totally agree with BlauK on this one.

Been playing all manner of online games since the advent of the computer and internet and LAN. My experince has been that his breakdown of the gaming community is pretty accurate now and as it was way back in the beginning. I think it will always be that way.  :O

My experience with the community of all these games has been that more players than not tend to adapt to the reality of what is and isnt done in a game and just try to  have some fun with it all. But life has taught me that no matter where I go there is always going to be that 10% that just cant get along with the program and will be troublemakers for the rest of us. Unfortunately that small portion of the community is so much in your face about everything that they seem at time to be the majority.  :O

My advice to anybody playing any game is just have fun and try not to be part of the PowerWhining 10% if you can help it.

IMHO NOE missions are fun just like playing any other aspect of this game is fun if you let it be. Some are a bit more challenging than others.

Thanks for the replies guys, I get it now. Sounds like a blast to be under a NOE's path with a few Wirbels :D

But are there ever any high-altitude missions? (at least above 3k?)

WMLute has it right, and for those BISH with poor reading skills  THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH NOE MISSIONS, other than they are over used. The newer generation of players see the NOE as an easy way to capture a base. With 5 guys and a good route into a field almost any base can be taken. With a horde of 25 or more it is completely unstopable, even if the 25 people are all first week newbies.

NOE missions have their place and can be great as diversionary tactics. Unfortunately they have become the "norm" for unskilled players with no imagination.

:rofl :rofl Life must be tough for you when things just dont go your way....

Its a matter of gameplay preference.

Players in AH generally break into two groups:

1.)  Those who go looking for a fight.
2.)  Those who try to avoid a fight.

There is nothing wrong with NOE missions in and of themselves and, in many cases, they are the tactic of choice when you wish to take a base.

However, by their very nature, they are designed to elude enemy detection and, thus, are more focused on avoiding a fight than creating one.

While this makes perfect sense from a tactical standpoint, some members of the community feel as though it defeats the purpose of logging in in the first place.

Correction:
1.) those who HO
2.) those who do not HO but whine about it.

I dont like them. The sneaky stuff I dont like. If taking a base was as easy as typing "I want A24" in the text buffer, some would do that rather than fight for it.
