Saxman - it's my opinion...please respect it  ;)

There's many more that should come before it.

Respect is a two way street you didn't show the original poster much respect for his opinion by altering his quote.

I believe the SB2C-3 corrected most of the problems with the earlier variants and became quite the little power horse of a dive bomber.  Should be added to the game eventually.

No doubt in my mind, NO. Many preferred the Dauntless, a much slower plane, yet much more reliable and better handling then the Helldiver, besides, it'll surely become a hangar queen. I wouldn't fly that thing.

From what I've read, the Dauntless was rock steady in a high angle dive where the Helldiver was squirrely and required trimming on the way down.

It would, currently, be useless for scenarios as you idiots who ask for anything American and then just jump to asking for the next anything American when the prior request is granted will never support the addition of the appropriate Japanese opposition, which is notably lacking in AH.  The Japanese navy strike aircraft in AH are currently a 1936 dive bomber and a 1938 torpedo/level bomber, not even the more common 1942 version of the 1936 dive bomber whereas we have a 1943 version of the early war American dive bomber an the 1943 version of the torpedo/level bomber that entered service in 1942.

So we all agree, block idiotic demands for American planes that have no use in AH, increase the demand for Japanese, Russian, Australian, and Italian A/C and G/V.

We need something with big guns, fast, sexy, and well armored. Something like:

Its real, and it can keep up with that tracked vehicle going 50mph, I'm just guessing that.

No we don't all agree. The guy didn't make an idiotic demand. He stated he'd like to see it in the game.
Who decides an aircraft has no use in AH? You? This is the wishlist forum. Just because somebody wants an American plane in the game doesn't mean they're an idiot.
Just like you jumping on the anti American plane bandwagon doesn't make you cool. I agree there are many planes needed in AH from many countires.
That doesn't mean the SB2C should not be added to the game just because it's American. Geez you fanbois that suggest a persons wish is an idiotic demand then follow up with an
intellegent statement like this... Its real, and it can keep up with that tracked vehicle going 50mph, I'm just guessing that.   :lol

Wishlist and agreeing with what someone wants in is always going to be a little bias. We'll agree with a certain plane; to some extent, based on our interests. Now, you Naval aviation guys would love to see the Helldiver added. I say I don't think we need it...There's plenty of planes I or someone else would want added that you gents would say we don't need (another 38 variant for example).

You can't say someone's opinion is wrong because that's exactly what it is...an opinion.

 :rofl

I agree but this hasn't been my experience lately.   :D

My opinion is the Helldiver should have never been built.  But it is based purely on 20/20 hindsight.  It really didn't live up to its expectations and by the time it was available and in service it was no longer needed.  The number built versus the number that were actually used in combat seemed to be a product of savy political manipulation on the part of Curtiss.

I see no pressing "need" for it in game but any new aircraft are always welcome.  More carrier aircraft would be nice and I don't see the Helldiver as being any more of a hanger queen than the SBD or TBM or any other carrier based bomber actually.

Lol no mine either wrongway, I have to stop myself sometimes and think to myself "practice what you preach".

I'll say again I'm all for new planes. I just think as far as the Helldiver is concerned; SBDs are a fine substitute for now as for as scenarios go, and it wouldn't be used much in the MA. There's no question it would be used more than the SBD...but that's not saying much unfortunately.

The SB2C had a terrible reputation... (I would not be allowed to say here what SB2C was translated into by its crews). But, you can model all the flaws, by all means add it, but, it would still be a hanger queen... and how would you go about modeling random structural failures?

The early versions of the SB2C had a terrible reputation with those that flew it but that changed with the SB2C-3 which corrected the flaws of the earlier version.  The SB2C-3 would not be a hanger queen in this game.

I would like to clarify my prior statement.  I am not anti-American aircraft because I don't like them,  My suggestions are always rooted in what I think would be best for the game, not what I personally would use.  Adding endless numbers of American aircraft while letting other nation's planesets languish is not good for the game in my opinion.  I have noticed that many posters only ask for American aircraft and never support oposition units, or if they do it is with a tepid "I agree" type of post.
