This one looks to be even more fun Larry.  :D  I think the marked objectives will make it a concentrated effort.  I will be there early if anyone wants to get some practice in  :devil

I go to work about 9:45 but have been known to get carried away and .....  :uhoh  Let's say I kinda don't have time to slow down for anything (I drive @ 1.5 hrs to work).  The expressions on the dear and raccoon near misses are memorable

No bomber formations right??????   Ju88s and Ki67s speed and payload difference over Allies   Not sure if you can limit payload and make formations *UNavailable but would help even the field, unless Allies have some secret weapon up there sleeves  :noid cough..... nukes.... cough

*edit:  doh I meant make formation not available ..... darn u captain1ma.... your hypnosis almost worked this time.

:salute to those who participated last night.

The start of round 1 Japanese forces began attacking Henderson field placing the allies on the defense.  Axis forces were quick in taking out radar stations leaving the allies blind to incoming threats.  However during the heat of battle, misscommunications between the navy task groups and ground forces caused the Task Groups not to be in position to drop invasion troops.  Since none of the objectives were taken for either side plus none of the TG ships were sank, round 1 ended in a draw.

At the start of round 2 Japanese forces were given orders to defend New Georgia from an incoming allied invasion task group.  They were quick to hit the task groups head on placing the allied forces in a position of defending the TG as it worked it's way toward the shorelines of New Georgia.  Since the allies were occupied defending their TG they were unable to organize any effective strike against the air fields.  Just as the allied TG was in a position to launch it's invasion force, the Japanese forces delivered a critical blow by sinking the Allied task groups CV.    Since the allies were unable to take any of their objectives nor sink any Japanese ships, round 2 goes to the axis for sinking the allied CV.

Had a good time flying in this setup last night. The Axis side pressed hard in both rounds last night and kept the Allied side on the defensive. In Round 2 especially, they made it very difficult to attack the incoming bombers, let alone try to mount an offensive on New Georgia.

I enjoyed getting to fly with a few old faces, too!

:salute  I had a lot of fun and enjoyed seeing some good squads participating.  Although, I was shot down and sent state side early in Round 1 (had to leave for work), I was pleased to see 353rd, Claim Jumpers and JG/54 making this event.  Even early in Round 1 I could tell that the event was a huge success.  Thanks Fudgums, Soda, Oldman and all CMs who made this possible.
