Model tools

Hope someone, or multiple someones here are modelists, got a question.

I am looking to get some new tools for models, but never had to get new parts before, aside from maybe an X-acto knife blade.
I am looking for quality parts, for hopefully not too much money.  I hope to find the following:
>Air can(s) for Air Spray Brush
>X-acto Knife (handle and blades)
>Paints (Military WWII) (For Spray Brush)
>Tweezers / Third Arm (if suggested)

There are other parts but I figure I can find them locally easily (Brushes/paint tray/etc.).  I hope someone know somewhere these parts can be found.

Have some experience with these?  I am hoping to find a site that is known for good reputation.  I ordered from a small site last time everything was in bad shape.

Heck, didn't even know they had an online store!  Too bad they aren't very local, or cheap.  Closest one would be VA Beach area, and that is about a 1 1/2 hour drive.

Besides Squadron, try Greatmodels.com too.   Don't forget the "s" at the end!  Forgot it my first try!

Also Google for model kit supplies.  You can try Airplane, boat, ship, or tanks between model and kit.

Air cans are cheap short term but very expensive in the long run.

Get yourself a 3 - 5 gallon air compressor from Sears or Home Depot.  There are many inexpensive ones with built in regulators that work great.  Just make sure it's oil-less and that you use a moisture trap.  You don't need an expensive name brand air-brush compressor to do good work.

They have tools you probably never even thought of, that make model building so much easier and open up new avenues of detailing.

Yes, in the past I have used Verlinden and Squadron.  Bear in mind, I've been using mail order model companies since.......1980-81, before the internet.  One of my favorites and the one I used the most was Armor Exchange (IIRC), they sent out a flyer each month; being a 14 year old kid, some of the models I had only read about and wasn't sure what I was gonna get, but that made it more fun.  Not once did I get any damaged merchandise.
Micheals, at least up in the area, has really gone downhill on model building tools as well as model selection.  Your mileage may vary depending on where you live........

ChickenHawk, Thanks for the tip about mini-compressors, never thought about that.  I shall check Lowe's in town later today, they have some, I think.

Now to try and and not spend way too much money on this stuff.
