Hey man, I'm not trying to pick a fight with you, but you have to be ready to take critics if you post stuff like that online. You can laught all you want, but if I come at your shop and I witness those images, you ain't getting my stuff because it tells a lot on your markmanship. Like u said, and who cares, u can still do the job and wow your girlfriends. But me, I want to know that the guy that works on my stuff considers it like the freacking Mona Lisa.
... and that what's make customers come back and pay $$$. If you are in the business, u know that a covercar doesn't mean squat. Hell, my Firebird made a photoshoot at Car Craft when 6 months later the paint started to bubble from poor car prep.
Settle for the I'm too cool and it's good enought, or at least tell me "that's what we have to do at our shop for a higher turnover". Every car I work on, I treat them like my own. The last Z06 I did in the guy's driveway I taped all the window trims not to throw/rubb glaze on it, taped the windows/wheel whells, emblems, and all the panel lines. Took me time off course, but the guy gave me a $200 tip
On a bike I think it's even more important because u have all those tight spaces where it's hard to clean and I don't want the owner to see dried white compound between engine fins and the likes.

Here we are masking off a car to protect moldings, rubber seals, plastic door handles, windshield wipers, emblems and any area that should be protected. Taping the different areas of your car is important before buffing paint. A buffer can remove paint, melt moldings, discolor parts or burnish compounds and waxes into the porous plastic parts while polishing paint. We tape all these areas.
