When the cap is on in an arena that has 160 in it and you have to go to an arena with 40...well, do you still stick to your quote?

I just don't understand how reducing both arenas to 100 people in the middle of the day is better than having 2 arenas open to everyone.

You yourself have said the game's performance suffers after about 400-450 people are on a server.  I think it suffers when the cap is on and the arena is reduced from 160 to 100.  I don't think I've found anything better in a less populated arena that I couldn't find in a crowded one.  If I found that the performance was an issue, Id go to the other arena.

I guess in a way you are right.... when both arenas are evened out, you are not missing out on anything....they both have been diluted.

I do not buy the argument that everyone thinks that flying with squad mates is the most important thing to people, I do believe that people like to use this as an excuse to complain about not being able to get in the most populated arena. In reality they want to fly in the most populated arena with their squad, but each person in the squad is saying that it is more important to them to fly in the higher populated arena, hence why they are in the most populated arena.

It does not take a rocket scientist to understand all it would take for a squad to agree  to always fly together is that they all agree to fly in the 2nd arena on the list.

We fly BLUE mainly for this reason!!!  Although the SPEIRhead's will say it's because we like to kill the easier competition.

Hi HiTech,

First, congrats on making a great game.

When 4 of your squad mates are in the capped arena, and you just logged on and have to enter blue b/c of the caps, they will not change arenas for you. This might be because they are either in a fight, or just have taken off. The normal response is to keep trying to get into Orange.
This problem gets magnified if you log on for one flight. I understand this isn't a problem for a person who can play for a couple of hours, as he can simply wait for the caps to change.

I'm not sure why you don't buy this argument if its been echoed by many people.

Instead, why not give people a true choice on where they would like to go? Or going further, reward them for choosing the less populated arena if this is the desired result.

Saantana: Reread what I said, no where did I say your squad should have to switch arenas for you, what I said was everyone in you squad should log into blue from the start. If it is so important for you squad to fly together, then if as everyone logs on they go to blue, you should have no problem.

In fact if all squads did this , there would be no need for floating arena caps. But that is not human nature.

     Obviously HiTech has never tried to organize squad ops. Arena caps make this almost impossible. The population of the arenas has nothing to do with my arguement. Because of "Floating" arena caps the most populated arena will switch over the period of an hour.
     Dale try this sometime . Get 8 squaddies together, organize a run. Get booted for whatever reason, then try to re-join the so-called run in progress. 80% of the time, it's not gonna happen. Camaraderie is probably the #1 reason many fly this game, I know it is for myself. So quit trying to think that EVERYONE is here just so they can create a horde and get easy kills. This may be true for many, but NOT for all. I for one usually fight against the horde when possible.
     I'm not trying to act like I know the answer to the lopsided numbers problem. But it seems to me if you have an arena capped at 300 with 130 bishops 85 knights and 85 Rooks. And no one can log into it, the problem isn't being solved.
     Maybe try this, use the above scenario and make it so only knights and rooks can log into that arena until the numbers are equal (lets say within 5%) it's worth a try.
