Installed Win 7 RC ( 32 Bit)this morning .
 soundblaster card drivers were a pain , finally,  I just ran Vista drivers in compatibility, sound card works fine .

  Firefox works better than IE8 on some websites.

I did the beta in a virtual PC and a real PC installation and it was good in both instances. I am going to install the RC version tonight on my main home system on a second hard drive and run it that way. Based on my previous feelings of W7 I would consider moving EVERYTHING over to W7 and eliminating Vista from any PC in the house. Although I do really like the way Vista handles the Parental Controls and I am glad to see W7 using the same setup for that as well.

Loaded it this afternoon , no problems during the install , will be putting AH on later this evening though i don't forsee any problems with that .

most certianly do........ the Windows 7 CR 32bit ISO is somewhere around 2.35 gigs

while Windows 7 RC 64 bit ISO is around 3.04 gigs

I've stuck with the 32 bit version, is there a benifit to going to 64 bit OS?

The 64-bit version can make use of more memory. How much I can't recall, but the 4GB limit will be expanded. I'm sure there are some other benefits, but drivers on a 64-bit version can become a real pain.

64 bit OSes can address up to like 16TB's of memory  but its the motherboard that is the limiting factor on how much you can use.

Yes 32-bit applications are still limited by 32-bit address space per process unless they're specially coded to take advantage of larger memory. Generally speaking no 32-bit app is - especially games. The good news is that since the developer of the said 32-bit application coded it for that interface, it cannot require more than what's available by definition. So untill we start to get natively 64-bit games it's pointless to fight with 64-bit incompatabilities and/or worry about memory limits. Some users with 2-3 1gig displaycards may have a self induced problem but that's what it is, self induced problem. 2-3x512Mb cards would do the trick without memory trouble.

The benefit you get is higher stability, if your applications can run on the  64-bit OS . This is due to the 64-bit architecture of windows7 / xp-64.

My ammo last for 6 Lancasters, or one Yak3.

well, I just ordered a laptop and it comes with vista 64. . .so I guess I am gonna have to drop some more cash and get win7 when that system has been out for awhile.  I run XP on my desktop though. . .and I have never had problems with that.  I am deeply concerned about Vista 64 though. . .but I had no choise.
