Selenoid Timers, Tracers, Costumizable please?
« on: November 16, 2001, 11:41:00 AM »
HTC, would it be possible to allow us to decide how many tracers per bullet? Or if the guns fire all together at the same time or if they fire 1 by 1 (albeit mseconds from each other) when I press the trigger?

I now turn off tracer because most of the time the tracer blocks my view. If I could set the tracers to be set to 1 tracer every 12 bullets I believe I'd have a much better accuracy and visibility in a dogfight.

The selenoid (or whatchamacallit) timer selection is because my guns on the 38 seem to do ZILCH when I compare them to a P-51B (even when the P51B fires at twice convergence). What is the use of the nose guns if they are being fired 1 by 1? Any kind of punch it would have is lost because the bullets would hit feet apart during moving combat. If I press the primary and secondary gun bank buttons, doesnt that make the P-51 shoot 2 guns at the same time (instead of 1?), giving it twice the amount of lead hitting on target at the same time?

Is any of the above possible?

Not exactly sure what you are saying, but I've never flown any AH aircraft where I couldn't fire primary and secondary weapons at the same time by holding down the #1 and #2 triggers together.

If you have them mapped to keys, maybe you are overloading the keystroke buffer by doing too much at once?

P-38 case: 4 .50 cal guns fire 1 at a time because its on primary gun bank (trigger#1).

P-51B case: 4 guns fire 2 at a time because first gun bank (2 guns firing 1 at a time) fire because trigger #1 is pressed, the other 2 guns (firing 1 at a time) because trigger #2 is pressed. Thus when the P-51 fires, its firing 2 guns at a time.

That is what I THINK happens. Jus' asking.
