ur right for back then. Technology back then wasn't there like it is now. The biggest problem the XR had back then was the head and head gasket. Most of that problem was because of lack of intercooler and a 25% efficency water pump. My engine has these problems fixed. I got the Aluminum head on it (got rid of the cast iron) with the big valve swirl polished stainless steel valves package (1.59 ex/1.89 int), High flow water pump, "D" dish Forged Pistons, Windage Tray, 65mm Throttle Body, TurboXS Boost Adjusting Valve, TurboXS Blow Off Valve, Aluminum Flywheel, Center Mount Turbo big log Header, Ported lower intake, gutted upper intake, 3" down pipe from turbo into cat and then into dual 2 1/2" Borla exhaust, Garrett T3/60-1 w/ .63 a/r turbo, 45pph flow matched Bosch injectors, Walbro Hi-Pressure 255lph Fuel Pump, Custom ground roller cam with adjustable cam timing pulley, alot more stuff, just can't think of it all, lol.
