Those are beyond gaudy!    :O    I like Digital "Analog Gauge" and the tiny-assed Digital Speedo in between the two.   That is a butt ugly interior.

This will be me in 2010  :aok

Australian Ford XR8.

V8, 5.4L, 290kw (about 400 HP ish)

If this is the Mustang you're buying Frenchy.... it looks pretty bloody nice.

By the way..... I just noticed on a spec site.... You guys have 87 RON fuel reccommended for that Mustang?    I run my my 14 year old Ford on 95 RON....  :huh

Is there a reason you guys don't use higher octane fuel? Cheaper to produce and supplier lower RON fuels? As I understand it, you'd open up the efficiency and performance of engines by going to higher RON...? (Though your engines may suffer from going up to 95+ RON?) Mmmmmm

Different ways of measuring octane.

US uses a value called the Pump Octane Number (PON), which is the the average of the Research Octane Number (RON) and Motor Octane Number (MON).  whereas Europe (and - apparently Australia) just uses RON. MON gives a lower figure than RON for a given grade of fuel hence the lower numbers.

That said, fuel grades are lower in the US than in Europe (and - apparently - Australia). 87 PON (which is the most common 'regular' grade I see in the US is roughly the same as 90 RON. The highest grade fuel I see regularly is the US is 91 PON which is equivalent to 95RON.

In Europe, 'regular' fuel is normally 95 RON with premium or super being somewhere between 97 and 100 RON.

As much as I still love my "new" Mustang ('06, 70K+ on it so far), if I had the choice between getting another new one or getting a classic, I know what would win. Amenities and driveability are nice, but I'd still rather have the classic. Particularly THIS classic.

Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Heu ... no. For that price, I would get a used Corvette Z06. :rock
They look hella cool, but they are very big cars, almost 600 lb more than the tangtang. Great highway cruisers.

I love the new Camaro, and really like all the Stangs since the body change in '05 and think the Challenger is awesome. Not taking anything away from the Mustang, that new Stang you're getting is really sweet (and the proper color).

But the Vette is where it's at, baby, if you don't need 4 seats......

The C6 Z06 will eat a GT500 alive in every way. Or you can go like I did and take a C5 and mod the ever-lovin' pi$$ out of it under the hood for a fraction of that price, and eat alive a Z06....over 550hp at the crank with mostly GM parts other than the LG Motorsports long-tubes and custom ground cam, all for a total investment of about $22K, including what I paid for the car.  :rock :devil

Now all I need are the L5 Motorsport flared rear fenders and some nice 325-wide rear tires to try to help control wheel-spin every where under 75mph....

Repeat after me..... "Don't take off the traction control! Don't take off the traction control! Don't take off the traction control! Don't take off the traction control!"

My friend lets me drive his UFO 2002 silver Z06. 614 Rear Wheel HP, Methanol cooling. We too have a problem with getting it down for launch. We are going the tub way by A&A Corvette in L.A. Rather than the flares, I'll advise u the same to fit the 315s, keeps the original look.

Corvettes are a league of their own, low CG, low weight, one of the few cars u can double the HP with just a blower and keep the stock brakes/trany/drive shaft/rear end.

I had a 1967 Mustang back in the mid 70s. I had a 68 camaro in the late 70s. I had a 77 trans am with the 6.6 and shaker. I had a 73 ventura.

I've had all kinds of vehicles. The ones I love the most are from the 60s. The new stang and camaro bring back a lot of nostalgia.

Sounds like an awesome car... blower is probably next for me, I'd like to get to 600 whp. A friend of the guy who did the work on my Vette has a GTO with a methanol injected procharger set-up, 650+ rwhp on the chassis dyno. Still running stock size wheels and tires!! He's a cop, so opening it up whenever he wants is no problem, but he says racing is futile as it spins the tires all the way to 100mph...  :O

On the flares, TPE just came out with some flares that are not as "aggressive" as the L5 ones... they're a dead-ringer for the C6 Z06 flare, which is gorgeous. I love the flared look, def don't want to tub the car. I like agressive, probably add a MCM hi-rise heat extractor CF hood at the same time since paint will be involved, and a set of gunmetal LG Motorsports World Challenge wheels in Z06 sizing, 335's on the rear (that's what I originally meant in the earlier post)..  :rock

I wouldn't so much say they're aimed at older folks as they're aimed at people who recognize that just because you can slap a classic name on a new style, doesn't necessarily mean you should. The "retro" cars have style and history both.

I rented this from Hertz last time I in Miami.

Really fun but probably dumbed down.  Where I come from you couldn't get it out of second gear, but it wouldn't be allowed anyway...too big.

I've been browsing second hand corvettes ever since.

Or U can spend even half that and get a 1987 Merkur XR4TI with some custom mods with 422HP and 410ft/lbs of torque at rear wheels in a 2710lb car and eat corvettes all day long, hehehehe.  Here is mine.
