FSO Squad Jeep Races
« on: May 26, 2009, 07:24:49 AM »
Thinking about a little fun on the "off" night during FSO's.  This would involve all the squads on the same country.  Just a little friendly mad dash across the countryside.

Only Jeeps and M3's are available.  Squads can choose how many in both vehicles.  Vehicle supplies for over turned jeeps.  Think of the M3 as an ambulance for upside down jeeps.

The goal is for a squad to get a jeep first to a pre-determined finish line like a vehicle maproom, town's water tower, etc.  When the CM types Fields are Open Go Go Go, all the squads peel out from a single point and race to the finish.  Probably a 40 to 50 mile race for an hour of fun.

To balance out the large squad participation versus the small squad levels, let the small squads band together into a large team.

Any feedback would be appreciated since my first post on this was in the wrong forum spot.

Trying to see what interest from squads would be on this.  Totally unofficial type of event.  Quite a few of us AK's love doing the jeep races.  Any more wanting in this?

If this catches on we could make the jeep race on the Friday night that the FSO is off. This could be done in the MA.

Maybe HiTech should make a race track.  Like the Baja (SP) in Mexico.

Let's set up an unofficial FSO Jeep Race for this Friday on our "off" night.  I went to the SEA and a new map was downloaded.  The CM's have flight disabled for the countries so that arena is out for now.  I went to the Axis and Allied arena and the current map gives us jeeps and M3's on the bishop side.

What I propose is that we all meet in that AvA arena 10 to 15 minutes before our normal start time for FSO.  We get in the tower at a pre-designated v-base.  We have someone do a local channel countdown from 5 to 1 and we launch from the hangar and drive to a pre-selected target.

On the initial roll out depending on how many players show up, there might be a lag issue for the first minute or so until everyone seperates.  I looked on the map and saw a route from one V-base to another that would take us up and over some large hills or small mountains.  Others might try going around on the flat areas leading to a sea shore.

The goal: first one to the second V-base's maproom wins.

If this catches on then maybe one of the CM's could release a vehicle hangar in the SEA on the next "off" night.

All FSO squads are welcome to this unofficial event.  Walk-ons also the more the merrier.

As of now, the first unofficial FSO Jeep Race is on for Friday May 29th at the normal FSO start time.  We'll be meeting in the Axis and Allies Arena.

Each squad will choose which players are in jeeps and M3's.  The M3's are strictly for Vehicle supplies for over turned jeeps.  Jeeps should have two vehicles supplies also on load out.  Only a jeep can win a race.

This will be a same side country race.  We'll all spawn from the same hangar and race to the pre-arranged finish line.

The competitors at right now are:
                                               Arabian Knights
                                                13th MPG

Any FSO squad is welcome to race.

The Tunisia map is the current one for AvA.  The Rooks are using jeeps and M3's.  The race will start at V96 main hangar, go southeast to V47 maproom.  First person there in a jepp wins for the squad.

Before we start the race we offload the ammo to get rid of some of our top weight, in theory anyway.
