I had a beard when I first met my wife, we were married for 10 years before I had to shave it off for my job (had to wear respirators and can't get a good seal on your face with a beard).  She was a little nervous about how I'd look without it, actually so was I.  Must not have scared her too bad, she's still here putting up with me.

Is the egghead a mandatory Serenity?
I still wear the marine's haircut-style from 1945 BTW, and that is a good style ;)
Anyway, while I like having a beard in winter, the missus hates it. I shave = I get more popular  :t :t
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Around here, its the hunting season beard. Start growing it a few weeks before deer season opens, and don't shave it until the season closes.

I feel bad for this guy- he said he wasn't shaving until the Cubs win the world series.

After 12 years, I shaved off my mustache.

I feel so... naked....

:cry

I feel the same way on the very rare occasions I shave my beard.

Oh and if you have a beard. And spend any amount of time outside. the worst times to save it is in the winter and in the middle of summer.
In the wintertime you freeze your face off. And in the middle f the summer you end up with tan lines LOL

Thats part of the reason I shaved it off now- didn't want a frostbitten lip in the winter, but didn't want tan lines either. I had to get rid of it because-

A) Its against regulations for the Continental Army- no facial hair, and shave at least one in three days.

B) GF keeps complaining that it tickles.

I will admit that it was kinda bristly. Was like a clump of pine needles sticking out of my face.

But I didn't realize how much older it made me look- I've gotten proofed twice so far today. :(

lol. I did it for three reasons. First, my hair was WAY out of regs when i showed up to the meeting and it needed to be cut. Secondly, It needed to be in regs from two weeks ago through this next week at Anapolis, and on through the National Flight Academy until June 26th, and I knew I would probably not get time to cut it in between. And third, a Marine Corps buddy of mine paid me $20 to let him shave my head.

Prepare for several weeks of velcro head and being stuck to your pillow in the morning.
