North Africa - Final Moves

Pressed between the veteran British Eighth Army on the
East, and the green but eager U.S. forces on the West,
the Afrika Korps fights the final delaying action.

Because the historical airfields are quite far apart,
vehicles and aircraft are enabled at ALL bases.
Some aircraft will not be able to exit Vbase hangers.

Allied Forces (Rooks)

On Land:
 Boston
 C-47
 Hurri I, IIC, IID
 P38G
 P39D

 M16

Panzer IV

Fog is set at 12.5 miles.
Traditional AvA bombsight (must be calibrated).
Radar settings as follows:
   Tower 132,000 (feet)
   Sector 316,800
Fuel is 1.0 burn rate.
Ack is .25 for low-level ack, .1 for puffy ack
(that is, considerably less effective than MA).
Friendly mid-airs are off.
Killshooter is on.
Strat is disabled.
Bishops are disabled.  Pick Rooks or Knights.
There is no radio channel one.  By convention,
people use channel 200 for cross-country
 communications.

AND PLEASE REMEMBER:  Civil behavior is valued,
and required, in this arena.

When? And can one just enter on the time or does one need to register?
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

It's there now, dude.  No special qualifications needed (...well...we'll discuss contributions to the Save the Oldman Fund later, perhaps).

Spent most of the evening getting a P-39 shot out from under me -- repeatedly.

The jeep races had me fooled.  I switched to the axis because it looked like they were outnumbered.  Turns out the opposite was the case at that time.  Thank goodness there is no time limit for switching . . .

Much fun last night both getting waxed and jabbering on 200.  <S> to all I encountered, friend and foe alike.

Final random thought -- Anyone heard from Dichotomy lately?  Miss that guy  :( -- always had a way of elevating the room.

hmmm...jeep races you say? :huh

Well.....there are other options besides the AVA for that. I guess if people want to use it in that way, they should understand that a bunch of vehicles in a group are going to be a prime target.

why yes, by a even larger horde of vehicles hunting them down. Our new "JG54 vehicle death squad" shall find them and kill them quickly!!

I'm assuming the desert terrain was a big draw for them . . .

And there was no targeting of them that I am aware of.  They kept to themselves.

North Africa - Final Moves

Great setup, I love the desert scenarios.  Plan to get a new rig rolling after I finish this class and might get back up soon.  The Brewster has my interest.
