VY-23mm was not small and light by itself, so there were no chances for two of these cannons to be installed on La-5/La-7, though single VY-23mm was installed on some series of LaGG-3 in the propeller hub instead of 20mm ShVak cannon.
Post-war La-9 and La-11 got NS-23mm which was a different weapon (more smaller and lighter compared to VY-23).
NS-23mm was produced in small numbers in 1944-1945 and was installed on IL-10 only.
La-7 was tested with 3 x NS-23 in June 1945 (unsatisfactory) and in October 1945 with satisfactory results.
