These people (PETA) need a hobby.

So one should not use penicillin to 'execute' an infection?

For a group of people who shamelessly slaughter tons of helpless plants on a daily basis, then murder billions upon billions of dust mite during their semi-weekly showing rituals, I think that these statements are the definition of hypocrisy.

I mean just last year i saw a PETA rally outside of a Nordstroms. They were carrying signs made of wood and paper! And they were walking on the ground without the least bit of concern for the insects and microorganisms that they were without a doubt stomping under their feet. At one point, a frightened squirrel, spooked by the miniature-stampede, made a bee-line for a nearby...

God only knows the psychological trauma the little rodent must have felt, and how this affected his home, family and friends.

Somebody needs to speak up for the rights of all these victims, and it's high time that PETA face the music in their rampant disregard for life, nature and the ecosystem.

Place members of PETA in the same cage with a Gorilla and they're bound to understand that animals are not as important as humans.

Denholm, they would use their apposable thumbs to free the gorillas, you would have to weld the cage shut, and that in and of itself would raise a stink with the media. As long as PETA dosent do anything illegal no one can do anything about them. Oh sure you could complain and crap like that but that won't do much if anything. The real problem is that PETA has no perspective of how rediculsouly far they are taking this whole "protect the animals" crap. I am not saying we should look the other way to pochers or over hunting or anything. But the fact remains that if there are to many animals in a habitat they will exaust it's resorces and starve to death.
Now PETA, you tell me, would you rather see animals killed quick and painlessly or suffer weeks of starvation. AND tell me wether you would choose between a bear and a human heck, tell me what your choice would be between yourselvs or an animal.

All good points but PETA would retort with the fact that the reason the animals would starve to death is because of man's encroachment and destruction of their natural habitat.  The ONLY way to right this horrible wrong is to reduce man's footprint by about 9/10.

9/10ths!!!! those guys would say we should live like monkeys or crap like that. I'm sorry but PETA is an IDIOT!!! PETA, if you guys really belive the things you say then you care not at all for self preservation. And bases on how much land we have taken from animals we should only reduce our foot print by 3/10ths at best. Or would you propose we put a limit on how many children you can have like China? As soon as you can find a solution that wont cause undue inconviniences, increaces in mortality rate due to dangers that come from living in the wild and a way for us to get protien from things that actually tast good then I will hop on board.

What is their position on wolves eating bunnies?

What I haven't heard from PETA in years is about how they oppose pet ownership of any sort.  All those animal loving pet owners who support PETA.... Hmmmmm.

Considering the fit PETA raised with PetCo about feeding live mice to pythons, I'm convinced they'd sue a lion for taking down a wildebeast.

Anyone else see where they're exploiting Che Guevara's image by having his granddaughter pose semi-nude for one of their ads, complete with beret and bandoliers stuffed with carrots? Yeah, nothing says "SAVE THE ANIMALS!" like a Marxist revolutionary. :p

If you ask me, groups like PETA, ALF, and ELF are just hurting their cause everytime they do something stupid like the whole Obama-fly thing. Oh, have any of you seen that show Whale Wars? It actually films people preforming acts of piracy. Oh my god, I forgot until now, in one episode, the captain of the ship pretended to get shot; he was on the deck of a ship wearing a bullet proof vest, and when he went inside his ship he said "woh, I've been shot" or words to that effect. If you have ever been inside a bullet proof vest and been shot then you will know about it. It still leaves bruises every time you take a bullet. And it couldn't have been more than 75 yds, 100 MAX unless the angle the camera had kinda gives a false impression.

PETA may hurt the credibility of the animal rights lobby, but they also bring enough attention to the topic to justify their existence. That's the problem, because as stupid as they are, they've mastered the art of drawing media coverage.

As long as regular people keep responding, commenting and shaking their heads at how ridiculous PETA is, their efforts are not wasted.

Akusher, you are right. But I doubt 10 or 12 more people commenting on them in an online forum for a video game will hurt anything. But still, if you ask me someones navy should wait for that whale wars boat and arrest them or whatever they do, for piracy. They even have recordings of it, hell, they broadcast them engaging in acts of piracy on T.V.

No, I wasn't referring to this thread... Although it is a symptom of the grander problem. 10 or 12 guys poking fun at them doesn't account for much, but when their outlandish brand of attention-whoring hits the news, and thousands of people start doing the same thing, I can guarantee you that their website hit-counter spikes that day.

You can arrest them, and it'll create an even bigger media circus. Remember some years back when the French Navy sank a ship owned by Greenpeace? It was a victory for Greenpeace and a public-relations fiasco for the French.

The media is today's most powerful weapon. It's the only way that a terrorist organization can capture the attention of the world, and even a good deal of its sympathy. It's the reason why as good as our intentions may be, the fanatics will always make us look bad.

Don't get me wrong... I don't know of a counterattack to this. Asking regular folks to ignore the things they see and hear is pointless, and erasing the fanatic elements of society so that they no longer have a voice is downright tyrannical. All we can do is stand our ground, stand up for our rights, try to be civil and intelligent and hope for the best.

I agree, but what the whole Whale Wars people are doing is ILLEGAL. Ya, ILLEGAL. I'm sorry, but we shouldn't tolerate organizations who break the law any more than we should tolerate armed robbery or assult. The ALF group was declared an Eco terrorist group, I don't think we should tolerate that kinda crap. If you want to protest, film "inhumane things" that are being "done" to animals then fine by me, but once you board a ship and start throwing things at them then you have just made yourself a criminal in my eyes. I have nothing against PETA, well other than I think they are idiots, but ALF is pretty much a criminal organization.
