Since more than 6,200 of these wooden planes were made in 1941 and 1942, it would fill an important - and currently empty - niche in the plane set for early-to-mid Ostfront events.  :aok

The Finns flew some...

The Japanese even resurrected one or two...

And the USSR put some pretty cool-looking paintjobs over the plywood...

Since more than 6,200 of these wooden planes were made in 1941 and 1942,

Indeed production extended into 43.

If/when the Yak's are remodelled and if/should this include the introduction of Yak 9d's and late Yak 7's or even early Yak 1's then the addition of the Lagg3  (and the Pe2) would open up many Scenario opportunities including  two of the greatest battles of WWII as yet never run as Scenarios in AH. Namely Kursk and Stalingrad.

And they were still flown in combat in '44 and even '45 (if combat could be found).

Stalingrad v1.0 map is done and will be submitted as soon as the new version comes out. Even with the Lagg and early yaks missing I think we can put something together to make a nice scenario or FSO especially with the I16 coming out.

Stalingrad.

Which has the potential be one of the single best scenarios in cartoon pilot history, for sure.
