P-51D 3D art

I like the 3D models for all the planes in AH, included the P-51D.   However, there's a small issue with the artwork of the 51D:

They weren't painted white; they were bare-metal silver.  However, the body and wings of the P-51D in AH are clearly white.

I'd love to see this small issue fixed sometime in the future. After all, other planes have seen improvement over less visible problems.

Problem is that to make it look silver it has to reflect whatever color light is hitting it. So from the top it would look kinda light-blueish and more green from the bottom. Take a look at the WB3 P51 in game and you'll what I mean. It looks great but fps takes a hit.

Adding a slight blue-gray tint to the white we have now might make it look better.

The cockpit could do with some renovation perhaps - as could the external/internal artwork on most of the planes from beta. They are looking a bit shabby when compared to the fantastic artwork on the newer planes.

Actually, it is a very light grey, and the reflection from the sun will produce a bluish-white color.  One of these days I may change texture to look more grey.

For the record, most P-51D and K aircraft were delivered from the factory painted with a silver finish. They were not bare metal. Some fighter groups applied green to the upper surfaces, although most did not. Light grey is certainly the closest to the original finish that can be replicated in this format.

Widewing:

Correct if I am wrong please, but wasn't the factory applied finish just the Primer to cover the Alcad coating on the P-51? I thought it was done that way to ensure planes were properly primed if a unit painted them upon arrival. (which, of course, they rarely did)

P-47D30 and B-17 could go through the same treatment, Superfly..

(oh, and in B-17 that window on the right side of nose.....)
