He just had a heart attack, he is not dead.

RIP MJ, I grew up lsitening to him a lot.

The international media feeding frenzy taking place at UCLA (after the word got leaked that he had died ~3pm), less than a mile away from my office ( :furious ), has confirmed for a while now otherwise.  I'll try to get back to you guys if I make it home tonight.  It's a flippin madhouse out here this afternoon.

Kinda wierd though.... "they always pass in threes".  McMahon, Fawsett, and now Jackson in the last couple of days.

Its a shame that Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcetts media coverage will be overshadowed by MJ.

I read it on the internet, so it must be true !

Bear, you misunderstand me, personally I *think* he's as guilty as hell - however, he leaves children behind, and like it or not, he had a major influence in a lot of peoples lives.

No, I'm not a MJ fan by any means, just to clear up any further confusion. I do however think its not required to be so harsh on someone who's just died.

ymmv

Its a shame that Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcetts media coverage will be overshadowed by MJ.

I had to look up Ed McMahon in wikipedia, and Farrah was more or less known here mostly to people like me who are old enough to rember that ol tv show in the seventies.
Say what you will about his personality or music or lifestyle, but MJ was a truly global star for a dam long time.

Jackson has been a dead man walking for about a decade....

Sad. Great talent while he had his sanity.

Wife told me MJ died.

I said "Did he leave us any money?"
"No"

shrugged my shoulders "Oh well."

I don't know how to feel on this. I am personally surprised. They say celebrities always die in 3's... I was waiting for the ball to drop on someone, but I never in a million years would have thought Jacko.

I didn't like him, but when I was a kid the first cassette tape I ever owned I got for Christmas 1982, I was 9 years old, it was Thriller and I still have it lol. I remember watching the Motown 25 thing live visiting my dad and the moonwalk blew everyone's mind.

When I think of him I think of ABC and the Thriller songs. He did do a lot in music, how much was him, and how much was Quincey Jones I don't know... but I will say you can't deny he was influential in many ways.

Yeah he became a freak, and with all the weirdness surrounding him it almost overshadows everything. I'll say thank you for the entertainment he provided, and all I can come up with is dude WTF? about the latter years.
