To flesh out the details ... individuals can have three different ID's...Game ID, BBS ID and Spec Events BBS ID...
Trying to get players into private BBS forums as they register for Spec Events when there Game ID is NOT the same as their BBS ID is a royal pain in the you know what...
It's too much to ask that BBS names match Game names...there is no way that is going to happen...and I agree...BUT...
...for us poor overworked CO/XO types...
Could you please provide us with some sort of logical cross reference between BBS identities and Game identities as it pertains to Spec Events?
The Spec Events Scenario registration posts the game ID's that have registered...and unless their game ID is the same as the BBS ID...we can not include them in our team forum...I presently have close to 15 out of 88 players who are excluded from the team forum...because of this...
A simple fix would be to allow BBS users to include their in game ID as part of their BBS profile, and then allow a search function...
Another simple fix is to use the Spec Events BBS ID as the clearing house...as it stands now the user must include his in game ID when registering...the Spec Events ID should be the same as the BBS ID..and there you would have it...a simple clearing X-Ref...
To the board trolls:
...please do not post the childish picture of cheese and whine...unless or until you have tried to manage the disparate name game...you have no idea what kind of hassle this is...and don't suggest I use the search function either...
