This feature was implemented in order to keep people from "stick stirring." The code that the game uses to predict where you're going next to minimize netlag is thrown off by the fraction-of-a-second movements of someone thrashing their joystick about, which makes their plane appear to flounder and spin in random directions.

If you're staying anywhere within the realm of feasibility with your flight style, you should never get this message. Open up the Advanced tab of each axis in your joystick setup to make sure the joystick input isn't rapidly spiking.

If you have calibrated in windows, then in aces high and it is still spiking in the control panel that Ooz mentioned, it can indicate a stick that has a potentiometer going bad.

You just don't like the fact that it takes skill to the death blossom maneuver in the Spixteen.

There is no time you should be moving your joystick so rapidly (other than spiking etc) that you trigger the don't move controls so rapidly message.

I got it fighting with moot in the TA recently, fighting to keep my 38 from spiraling into the "Death Leaf." It happens when you are fighting the snap roll during hard turns. Or maybe I just am not flying the 38 right. I would at least wish for the Don't move your controls so rapidly message to not happen in the 38...

I don't know what you are doing to your joy stick. I have done some really violent and rapid manuvers and I NEVER got that message. Infact I don't even wana know what you're doing with and to that stick.

Actually I find I most often get it when I'm behind the other guy at 400. I end up making a series of small roll corrections as I'm watching him flip and flop trying to get off the hook, and wham.

Defensively I do much better working for an overshoot/barrel roll defense which really doesn't trigger it at all.

I would like to see it toned down a little. I never get it defensively, only when I'm tracking a target. I have zero spiking. Setting damping and deadband makes the controls too mushy.
