Tuck's Spitfire Mk I

This is the 92 squadron Spitfire Robert Stanford Tuck got his first kills in, over Dunkirk in May 1940. His aircraft had a an RAF type A camo scheme with aluminium undersides. The lower left and right wing panels were painted black and white as a recognition aid. The fuselage roundels were a little unusual in layout. Looking at the photo its hard to tell if the light area of the fin stripes is entirely white, or half red and half white.

Tuck's aircraft is the rearmost of the three in the photo below.

The Spit 1 skin I used to fly (before I changed to all default) had the half B/W belly.  I might actually download this one and fly it

Looks great Greebo.  Sure with HTC could do something about the nose of the Spit I and Spit V though.  It really kills the sleek lines with the boxy look out front.

Was Tuck's 92 squadron aircraft a Mk I or Mk II?  I recall it being a Mk II.

Agreed.  I try to ignore the Spit I, Spit V and Seafire due to this.

This aircraft was a Mk I, the Mk II first saw action in August 1940. Tuck flew with 92 Squadron until September 11th so he may have flown a Mk II for a while.

I agree about the boxy front end, but I can't see it getting changed somehow.
