Looking for Volunteers for some sample CiC orders
« on: July 20, 2009, 09:55:31 PM »
On our events site I want to put up three examples of CiC orders for C.O.’s to view, especially new CiC’s. Giving them several examples of orders will help them understand what is required. Might even help some that have been around a while.

My plan is to put up 3 examples, but I may use more.
1st Simple straight forward orders that allow C.O.’s to make most of the calls.
2nd Orders that have some specifics, but allow for the C.O.’s to make some calls.
3rd Orders that have detail and specific directions to follow and may require coordination between supporting squads.

This is where you guys come in. :) If you would like to sit down one evening this week and work on some orders using the information below. I may use them on the events site as an example. I can’t of course promise yours will be used, but I will appreciate any and all I receive. We have seen some orders that are highly detailed and others that are quite simple. They all can work.

Lets say for example on your Allied side you have the following 12 squads at your disposal.

68th Lightning Lancers (16-21)
325th Checkertails (11-15)
333nd Flying Mongrels (16-21)
353rd Fighter Group (16-21)
327th Steel Talons (4-6)
Ariabian Knights (16-21)
Damned SE (4-6)
JG11 Sonderstaffel (11-15)
Nightmares VMF-101 (11-15)
USMC / 71sqn (11-15)
VF-17 Jolly Rogers (11-15)
The Killuminati (7-10)

You must use at least 5 of the 6 aircraft listed below and at least 12 of each one you choose
P-51D
P-47D40
P-38L
B-26 with formations
A-20

DD,

I think I've still got copies of the two scenarios I CiC'ed, including the Battle of the Bulge scenario with the GV assault. I know it's not using the information you outlined, but I can send them for you to take a look and see if they fit what you're looking for.

DD, I'll volunteer to help with this.

;) J5

Thanks Sax. I have had several offers of other orders. Send them to me. What I may end up doing is after getting the 3 ‘sample’ orders I can have links to others that a new CiC could get ideas from.

Thanks Stoney.  :aok

lol Sorry Texas, but better late then never. ;) Glad you enjoy the CiC end of it, many do.

This is a great idea. Always good to have some samples or see what has been done before when trying to create your own battle plans.

Its been a while since I have done CiC work but I think I will take a stab at this to. :)

Looks like a fun challenge.  I'll do one also maybe two.  One for the ideal way.  The second for what not to do.  That will be the fun one to do.

To go further I would suggest that a couple of things be done.
1. Assign a senior squad to mentor new CiC's  There is alot more involved to making orders than just writing them.
For instance we typically compile info on a spreadsheet including ride requested, min and max squad numbers, ride each squad had in last one or 2 frames etc.
Then we handle the minimum ride numbers etc.  This is something that would take time to put in writing but would probably help.

2. I suggest that it be a rule in FSO that no new CiC be assigned to Frame 1 since it's the hardest one to do.  Frame 2 and 3 typically can use the first one as a template and make things easier.

Does this mean we will see how the different ways various players put together the battle plans?  Kinda cool to see the comparisons.
