Boots on the ground

Please do not dishonor these fine men by turning this thread into past politics.

This is an interesting post and some neat pics from the Texas Fishing Forum.

A common theme I keep hearing from boots on the ground: "...I am skeptical of the Iraqi Army's ability to secure their own country."

Hope they can....

Wait - we're selling them our front-line main battle tank?

Hope we plan on having something better deployed within the next 10 years.

How hard is it for 1 M1 to take out another??
How about an Apache?
A-10?

Wondering with the Chobham Armor and all that...

We have newer versions of the M1 Abrahams. From what i understand we never sell our latest technology to other countries.

They said M1A1, we have M1A2s now. We sell them like Cars, you have a base price and for more money you can get the high speed radios and things of that nature which make us better fighters. Im glad we are doing things like this to help out the Iraqis secure their country and we dont have to do this from the major cities, let the Iraqis worry about the cities we should worry about training their forces and finding stock piles of weapons for IEDs :salute

M1-a1/a2 tanks we sell to other countries do not have chubim armor nor do we sell them the depleted uranium tank rounds. Saudi Arabia has something like 151 or so m1s. And australia bought like 50.
