Fuzzy Instruments

Some of us have noticed that our instruments appear a little bit fuzzy compared to the previous version of AH: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,270129.0.html

Unfortunately, although I tried out the beta I didn't really notice this until someone else pointed it out, otherwise I would have pointed it out sooner.

I downloaded and installed the new high res pack before I even loaded the game.  I have toyed with anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, but neither made any difference.  I run 1280x1024 res.

Thing is that i cant remember having fuzzy instruments in the beta version.

It was brought up in one of the beta threads. Not sure what the resolution to it was if any, you can search in the beta section.

I have no idea if this would change anything, but shouldn't you install the latest hires texture stuff *after* the latest AH is installed (just in case the default AH install overwrites some things)?

No, I installed the game first, and then installed the texture pack.  By "load" I meant running the .exe.

If you read the entire thread I linked, the player updated his video card driver and his problems went away.  Not sure that is actually the fix, and I know we are looking at it as well.

Edit:  I reinstalled the driver and there's no difference.  I searched the Nvidia site and this seems to be their newest driver that supports my 9600GT.  Give it a try?

will try the driver, thinking that will fix it. I got rid of the Catalyst Control Center and using the ATI Tray Tools now.

As an experiment, did you turn off all antialiasing, both in Aces High and in your nvidia control panel (including for any settings saved specifically for the Aces High program, i.e., any nVidia profile you have for that program specifically)?

You might already have done that -- just curious if it has any affect.
