The F-15 really is a sexy aircraft, along with the F-16 and the F-18. The F-22 and the F-35 are ugly as sin IMO.

Agreed, even the F-14 with its odd airbrakes look better than those two.

Well you don't have to look at the F-22, you prolly couldn't if you were in an enemy aircraft, it would sense you on radar before you saw it, send out an XLAA and blow you outta the sky just like that.  :)
I just like the sleek designs of the plane, the F-35 isn't on my top ten list, it is pretty ugly.

But if it makes you all happy I'll say F8F Bearcat, good lookin plane.

Beauties.  Interesting that Ruff Stuff was really a 38G and it's been painted on a 38L and Porky II was a 38H and it was painted on a 38J.  Gotta love those Headhunter 38s :)

Be honest with yourself.   Does anything quite match a Spitfire for beauty and grace???

These were taken at a recent Air Show.  Note how the fast shutter speed froze the propeller:

I'm not sure what they did to the cockpit on this plane, though.   Still, the plane remains drop dead gorgeous.

TwinEng,

The cockpit was expanded for a second seat is what happened.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

It is a Spit IX trainer.

Mk T. IX and TR. 9 (type 509)

Although there were wartime conversions of the Spitfire into a two-seat trainer including the one-off modification of a Mk VC by RAF no. 261 Squadron and a Mk IX converted for use as a trainer by the Soviets, the two-seat Spitfire trainer was primarily a postwar program. In 1946, a MK VIII (MT818) was the first Vickers-built trainer built as a demonstrator, but in 1948, 10 Spitfire T Mk IXs, were exported to India. In 1951, a further six TR 9 trainers were converted from the standard Mk IX to train pilots for the Irish Air Corps (IAC) Seafire fleet. The Spitfires provided transition training that included gunnery practice since the type was equipped with two .303 Browning machine guns, one in each outer wing bay. Most of the TR 9 aircraft passed to the ground technical training school at Baldonnel where they were used as instructional airframes for the training of aircraft engineers for the Air Corps. Four of the IAC aircraft survived and two went on to join the warbird fleet in the 1970s and later.

There was a TV show a couple of years ago where 4 pilots got a chance to fly the 'Grace' Spit. The instructor pilot/owner is a woman, hence the name.
