I'd say the P-61 is a neat looking aircraft, but for twin boom designs you can't beat the early P-38s in attractiveness.

Ahhhh.  the widow maker......nice choice.   I would still pick the B-58 though.    This was definitely a good thread.

since when was the F7F Tigercat the widowmaker exactly? :headscratch: Widowmaker was the F4U Corsair's nickname due to dangerous conditions on takeoff and landing on carriers with them. Many deaths occured due to the corsair especially in the early models. Ty for the nice choice compliment though :aok

That's my mistake, I was thinking of the P61, and was actually the "Black Widow" not widow maker.   I had a little distorted vision last night when I was posting.  Now that I have some coffee and goods night rest, I am definitely wrong in my statement.  Thanks for the catch Bar.  <S>

Game, set, match.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

B-26 was official nickname was the"Marauder" but was called the Widow Maker by her crews. F4U was called the ensign eliminator for it's stall and landing characteristics.

B-26 was also known, unofficially of course, as the "Flying Prostitute", no visible means of support.
