It's about 20-30 minutes from getting the "Version out of date" till playing for me.  I install, run virus, cleaner and malware, then Defrag.  Then, I can assure the best possible installation on my system, and take care of many issues others may have that result from poor installations. AH is the third largest program my computer runs, ArcGIS is the largest, if I can get a really clean install it runs much better.  It works for my system.  Cutting on me because I do it right, and know how my system works, is pretty lame.

Considering my average time allowance for flying is around an hour or so, most times there is a patch, I don't fly that session.  At most, I have time for one enjoyable sortie.

Before I drive to get milk at the store which is 1 mile away, I check my tires, my oil, my mirrors, I put my seatbelts through a tension analysis test to ensure they are up to quality standard.  I check my antifreeze, I check my windshield wiper fluid and top it off, I let my car warm up for 15 minutes to ensure the engine is properly heated.  After I grab the milk I repeat such processes of course.  Sure, it takes me 2 hours to get the carton of milk but at least I do it right.. :devil

killert5 : Sorry you having trouble.

As for this , good luck finding your trouble, with this attitude don't expect any help from me, if we happen to help someone else and it runs for you, you will be lucky, I have absolutly no desire to help a guy with your attitude and accusations.

Of course not, it's completely conceivable.  Of course stuff happens.  But, obviously the BETA and 2.14 were two entirely different animals.... one worked fine (95% or so of users, with limited issues), the other did not.

It's far more conceivable than a free months sub due to the month long trial and error of patches and update headaches.

You'd be incorrect.

Because he seems pretty darn justified.

Holding his tongue as long as he did has done him no good to this point.  Time to let it out.

This is America, I'm free to speak my mind......

That doesn't mean that you should.

Use your brain and think about how your 'free speech' will be received before you communicate.

You can say whatever you like but maybe you should think about the results of your delivery before you flex your 'I'm American, I can do what I want' muscles.

You ruin it for the decent Americans out there by acting like a spoilt brat.

You can say what you want but you have the obligation to use the ability appropriately.

It's good to see a whine getting the slap it deserves.

The rampant 'the customer is always right' and 'free speech no matter how stupid that speech is' attitudes need to be stopped. Tolerating rudeness and tantrums is not on.

Justified?  In throwing a tantrum?  BS!  He's doing the exact same thing you all are jumping on killert5 about.  If he can't stand the heat. . . .etc.  And that has done no good other than to show his own immaturity and his misguided sense of superiority!

So who decides what speech is "stupid"?  Me, perhaps?  Then you're out!  You see? That's the first thing we did when kicked your monarch's limey-ass off the continent -- free speech!  That's why we call it the First Amendment!

Fingers were running before your brain was, weren't they, mate?

Some people are born to create, other people are born to be miserable and simply stay at home throwing stones.

So which are you right now?  I see a lot of airborne stones coming from your direction, when the person throwing (you) them could be earning each of our $15/month and fixing the continuing problems!

Hitech is very personal in this community and genuinely takes concern in his individual customer needs and concerns.  Would you rather him be a part of the community or just some figure head who releases official statements quarterly?  How is he expected to hold his tongue when he goes above and beyond the call of duty to make everyone happy and this is the thanks he gets?  It's just so rude and I'd be pretty let down about it if I was him.

For example, last night around 2am I report a problem with the water in low detail mode and low and behold, 12 hours later there's an option in the graphics menu to disable detailed water.  Now THAT'S customer service.

I play the biggest online game in the world. We get patches every and fixes every week, some times they screw up the release and I can not play that game for over 24 hours because the system is completely down.

They "screw up" the release?  Do you complain on their forums?  Do other customers?

Are you, by extension, saying this update was "screwed up"?  But not as badly, because only some of your customers can't play, and your game is still online while patches are thrown at it.
