My eyes get misty many times when I hear the stories that our vets tell.  Even if they don't think of themselves as such, they are all heroes - and we should give them a nod and some recognition.
 :salute from a grateful civilian.

+1.
Went in for fast food about a year ago, my family and I were joking around, having fun, when a guy in a wheel chair, obviously homeless, came in, got some fries, and came to a table near us, he overheard some of our jokes, laughed abit, we offered to get him a drink and a burger, he didn't want it, but he thanked us anyhow, so we gave him a seat at our table. Long story short, Vietnam vet, Purple Heart and discharged due to the injuries he recieved (that's what put him in the wheel chair), and his wife left him when he was overseas and he never got back on his feet. Great guy, sad story.
Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are: You only
need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the
WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
