Certain map with bridges
« on: September 02, 2009, 05:52:05 PM »
Within the past year there was an FSO that used a map that had bridges for GVs to cross.
Does anyone remember this maps name?
Is it still availiable?

Within the past year? That is probably arden08s. It's loaded in SEA I right now.

Yes it is the Ardens. However, I flew the rivers and none of the bridges touch land. So its impossible to drive a GV across them. Even the LVTVs ( not sure on the letters) can climb the bridge out of the water. Bummer!

"Ardennes has around 6,000 miles of coastline I'll have to update by hand, to the tune of 6000 x 8 pixels per mile etc, plus the changed texture under the airfields (minor). It's all doable, but it's going to take some time. All my custom stuff is working so that's the good news. I haven't yet looked at the euro tiles, so I don't know what the forests will look like, but I'm hoping they're dense enough for the tank battles so I won't need to make any custom forest tiles.

I run XP, so..."

Easyscor. Are you saying that you can change the map so the bridges can touch land and this upgrade will be availiable in the future?

I just tried it with a jeep offline thinking it was just a visual bug. It was not, you can not get to the bridge without swimming.  :lol
We used this terrain in the past for jeep races and also for a shootout from bridge to bridge with tanks. I guess the new update changed the terrain so the bridges do not touch land anymore.
