WGr. 21 rockets detonate roughly 300 yards off your nose. I did a quick test to verify this. Bf-109 G6, 300mph indicated; I clocked the time it took between firing and when the aircraft flew over the flak puffs. After some calculations, I figured it as 300 yards,

Refer to my "190A8 wish list" post on this thread if you want more info, but in my tests they detonate at about 600 yards from the firing possition (pronounced nose up after firing).

As a side note, looking a 190A8 in external view, the WGr. 21 launchers are very angled upwards, but firing them at level flight I cant see the rockets climbing over my nose.

flakbait, AFAIK WGr. 21 is just the designation for the launching tubes, not for the 210mm rockets. As I stated in my other thread about 190A8, all my information indicates those rockets were the 210mm Nebelwerfer 42 with a ground-to-ground range of 7.5Km.

I'm not sure about the designation, but in the limited books I've got they refer to these as the WGr. 21 rockets. Anyhoo, 300mph works out to 440 ft/sec. It takes 3 seconds for the Bf-109 to pass the rocket blast at that speed, which translates to 1320 feet. Devide by 3 and you get 440 yards. Either way the fuses are WAY off like Nath said. And on top of that, LW nuts STILL don't have any air-to-ground rockets. Regardless of who doesn't use them in AH, I can hit an ack gun from 2.2k with a single rocket.

In the Squadron Signal book Me-210/410 in Action theres a photo on page 39. It shows three men loading one of these rockets into a wing tube. Gives you a real size comparison for them. According to Handbook on German Military Forces, they weighed 248 pounds each and had a max range of 8,600 yards. Warhead weight was 28 pounds. 210mm converts to 8¼ inches in diameter.

Yeah, they're pretty much useless right now when buff guns have a 1.2k range. If I wanted to get into 300 yards to fire, I would just take 30mm. The idea behind them was to fire them into a bomber box to split up the formation.....don't think they are modeled as stand-off weapons here.
