How to kill Panzer-IV ?

Just a question.

Is it possible to kill this tank with 20mm cannons or rockets?

I believe the armour was alittle thicker at the front of the vehicle, so, one needed to  have  armour piercing 20mm ammo to penetrate the frontal armour.

an account form my Grandpa.... He was a German Tanker during 1944 and until the end of the war leading a "Kompanie" (just don't ask me the english expression ..)

He said that the best approach for strafing airplanes on the tanks was from the rear, and that especially P47 adopted a special tactic of shooting "just" behind the tank so the bullets would bounce up and go through the weakest part of it's armor on the lower belly, wasting the engine or the fuel supplies ...

Top armor being thin and bottom being the thinnest... (noted previously). Try a top shot with 20mm. Add 'spalling' effect on personnel inside, and you got one for sure dead PanzerIV.  I should imagine the 20mm and 30mm's could at the least de-track it and/or kill the engine, if not the occupants.

hmmm... Wonder if AA can kill a PZIV?
