Top armor being thin and bottom being the thinnest... (noted previously). Try a top shot with 20mm. Add 'spalling' effect on personnel inside, and you got one for sure dead PanzerIV. I should imagine the 20mm and 30mm's could at the least de-track it and/or kill the engine, if not the occupants.
