Saxmans group,

RT would like to thank you for the continuing support over many a FSO.

Last night was yet another example of how you and your squad can execute orders and work together with us.

It's always a pleasure to fly with you guys!!

Salute , Nikolas  :salute

Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

The night was frustrating as hell for us, though. Especially with those 30-odd I-16s that came out of nowhere.

Thanks to the RT guys who came back to try getting us out of that mess.

<S> Bucs and Rolling Thunder.

Your 22 109e and 9 Ju88s were up against our 11 I16s as the defense for A204.  We enjoyed fighting your well disciplined group of escorts.    We tried to strip you, then attack your bombers.  It worked for a few passes allowing us to kill only +20% of your bomber force, but you guys were quick to regroup and react to us.  You guys did your job of protecting the bombers, <S> and well done.  We did our best to stay alive long enough to radio in your position for 2nd lifers to join the fight and ultimately outnumber you and kill most of your group of bombers and fighters.   :devil

arowpla2 had a very interesting flight home.  :)  Our guy attacked him for +10 min, but ran out of ammo.  Once again, through the use of radio-text communication, he was intercepted seconds before he could land after this nearly 2 hour flight.   :devil

Weren't Second Lifers supposed to (per the CM objectives) furball over the captured V base in their second life? At least, that was what was stated in Frames 1 and 2, and this is what I have for Frame 3 Axis objectives: "AT T+45 the GV BATTLE WILL END AND GV PLAYERS ***ONLY*** WILL UP FROM A1 in 109Es and SWEEP V223." Were the Allies not specified to do the same on their second life?

That's why I'm asking for clarification, as Kermit stated the Second Lifers were called in to relieve the airfield, and we were hit by a TON of additional I-16s while we were covering the bomber force's withdrawal. My understanding is that under this setup the Second Lifers had their own assignment specified by the CMs, and were NOT general reinforcements to be distributed as the CiC saw fit.

If you stick around in any one area, your expectations of more to arrive increase with time.
Through the use of communications, team work, and abit of luck, you were killed.

Again, <S> to you guys for keeping your bomber pilots alive to bomb their target.

Nevermind, it's a question for the CM staff.

I will answer it here briefly since its been raised. The assumption of a sweep is that once the sweep is completed, that is, both sides have "engaged" each other, that the fighters are free to go elsewhere, just like any other objective in FSO. There is no set restriction to fly elsewhere, as long as the 1st task is done; ie CAP or ESCORT, or whatever.

If that was not clear, we will look at a further clarification in the objectives when they are sent.

I would ask that nobody jump to conclusions. If you have a concern, sent a msg to the CM and state the problem.
