Ki-61 Model problems.
« on: May 27, 2001, 01:22:00 AM »
Unless all my books are wrong, (and i've been getting a ton of data on this plane since i'm building one for Fighter Squadron) the flaps are completely wrong on the model.

They weren't notched out flaps but a flap that was attached to the bottom like the spits.

It is a Model I airframe and since the Model II was pretty much just a longer nose I think it's something that needs to be looked into.

Nate or Super, who ever did the model needs a pat on the back.  Other thing the flap problem and maybe the lack of a 3d Radiator it's a really great model.

If you have data that the flaps are right then could you share it with me since I modeled mine wrong on my plane if they in fact were notch out flaps.

Same counts for the Razorback canopy. You had no free clear view through the last window. There should be fuselage instead of thin air. Even the 2 seater trainer planes hadn't this.

I think the flaps you are talking about are called "split" flaps. (Like on the spit or C47).

Plain or slotted are the ones P51 style.
Fowller are P38 type ((or current airliners).

Yes, Mitsu has been cracking the whip on me with the Ki's model bugs.      I accidentally forgot to change the flaps for patch 2 though, sorry!
