Warning: Picture heavyBeen a while since we had just a 'for the heck of it' thread.
Been putting off Spring cleaning for a while, clearly, and finally got around to it, with a trusty ol camera near-by. Always fun to try and organize in this Cube. Don't mind any random thing in the pics, I am still cleaning this place. Dusting was less of a priority this go around since I'm outta compressed air.
Case: Aerocool M40 Cube, Split-layer design.
Decided to start with clearing the Lower layer of wires:
Then of course, the top layer:
Reason 1 why you should not use an ATX PSU in a Micro-Cube-ATX case:
Have to hide all those un-used wires somewhere, where better then the spare 5.25" bay?
Then to start wiring and routing things for the lower layer:
- 4 Pin CPU power
- GPU, 24 pin, and 4 pin
- Finished and closed
Now for the "fun" top layer!
- Last of those wires stuffed in all nicely.
- Installed the Modded HDD bay (HDD in bay):
All finished with the primary wiring, one last part to install, the Card Reader:
That Wire goes from the USB hub, over the sound-card and GPU and out an open PCI slot.
Completely finished and set-up:
Overall not bad for a days work, was the first time I've re-wired and actually tried to hide wires to much extent. Temperatures have only dropped about 1-2C, but it was about as cool as it gets all the time, only so much air a 50CFM intake / 80CFM out-take can do.
CPU: 30-35C
GPU: 38C
HDD: 32C
You all can keep your big ol Cases, I like this one just fine. Portable, nice airflow and stylish.
