i like the goat.

the only reason i put them on, was because i didn't have any other wheels that'd fit those tires. i spent some time trying to find some plain un-marked centercaps for those wheels, but came up empty.

Was watching the Mecum Auction the other night ... a GTO Judge went for $360,000 ... :eek:

THEY are sweet lookin! very rare to see one these days....even at the local car shows.

LOL ... yeah AMCs were just that.

When I was in High School I always went to the Trans Am races at Limerock and watched Mark Donahue muscle his AMX Javelin around that track and spank the Camaros and Mustangs tho.



A good friend of mine had a very un-assuming Gremlin ... with the V8 option ... talk about a sleeper.

Another buddy had one of these ...

the few amc's i ever got to work on, way bqack when, seemed like they were "thrown together" using a mix of parts. some had ford or gm distributors, most had gm starters, a lot had autolite or motorcraft carbs.......



remember the gremlin x?
there's someone driving one around here, although i haven't seen it in a couple months.

Stay away from the power jokes. Especially the six point oh no's.

Just some friendly advice.

Any reason why?  We've had power strokes around here for a while (a live in a rural town...everyone has a diesel....but mainly farmers) and we haven't had any problems.


Also, I don't think there are many stock parts left in that engine  :lol

i was kinda curious about that too. i don't thinnk ford built a 6.0 deisel. it was a 6.9, and dependable. a torque monster.

 the 7.3L powerstroke turbodeisel, has no mechanical problems, although they tend to have some electronics problems here and there.

 i've been towing on and off for about 15 years. the guy i tow for has fords, and they have powerstrokes in em....never had a problem.

Yeah that thing is a tank. I serviced one while ago and valve cover gasket wiring was melted(brilliant design). Apparently he didn't change glow plugs soon enough or something,i don't know much about diesels.

neither do i, but they are fairly simple. till ford threw electronics and a turbo on em, the 7.3's could be figured out easily. only glow plugs, or glow plug relays used to go bad.,

with the powerstroke.....the valve cover wiring is very common, as is the injector driver module.

The 7.3 Powerstroke is electronically controlled and not the same engine as the earlier 6.9/7.3's. It too was a decent engine that makes good power just expensive to work on. The 6.0 has been a problem child for Ford since it's introduction. and one of the reasons it has only lasted a few years. Don't get me wrong they are powerful and can move an 8,000lb truck down the road. When they run. Like the earlier 7.3 powerstroke they are expensive to work on.

true.....


i'm going to look at a rollback tomorrow night. it's got the non-turbo 7.3 and a 5 speed. it should do well for me.

Yes.  Pocono, Glen, VIR, Summit Point.  951, G50 Carrera and an E46 M3.  993 has not gone yet.

While that may be possible, I assure you that the cars in which I have seat time are far more capable than I am.  I am consistantly reminded of this when I go out with an instructer in his/her car.   :lol
