Yes.  Pocono, Glen, VIR, Summit Point.  951, G50 Carrera and an E46 M3.  993 has not gone yet.

While that may be possible, I assure you that the cars in which I have seat time are far more capable than I am.  I am consistantly reminded of this when I go out with an instructer in his/her car.   :lol

and that single revelation alone, makes you smarter and better than a good 95% of the butwads out on the streets today.

most people aren't really capable of pushing their honda civics to their limits, much less a mustang, camaro, corvette, etc.........

Nice ... I have seat time in a '87 911 (setup for G Class - Club Racing) and a '91 964 (every day driver) at both Lime Rock and Watkins Glen. "Gotta love the Glen".

The '87 is a "momentum" car, but you can still get into trouble tho ... You are right tho ... the '87 was far more capable than me on the track and my instructor showed me ...

Had an instructor take me around Lime Rock in his GT3 Cup Car ... never been so elated and scared to death at the same time.

Hey Saurdaukar next time you go to VIR lemme know.  It's only about 20 min from the house and I'm sure you either make the trip home or possibly stay in SoBo?  If you stay there, well that's where I live, I'll show you a couple of good places to get some food and/or adult beverages.

ok, here's mine again.
(Image removed from quote.)

68 camaro. it's almost all fiberglass. running a 540 chevy, with a turbo 400 tranny, dana 88 rear with 4.86 gears. has a transbrake, and a biondo racing delay box. that's all the electronics in it.

it was built in the early 70's by danny smith in camden nj. weighs 2600 and change with me in it. ran 9.9's with the old 454, and hoping for 8.9's or 9.0's with this engine.

(Image removed from quote.)

my street car, but not done yet.
it has a fi 5.0L 5 speed, 8.8 rear with 3.73's, and motorsport frame connectors.

the engine has gt40 everything, 30# injectors, 70mm mass air meter, and throttle body, and i'm installing cold air under the bumper.

she's gonna be a lot slower than my camaro, but sooooo much more fun when the kids in their ricers can't figure out what the hell just hammered em.  :devil

lol very organized  :aok

NOT  even close. i clean it out once a year.....and right now, it's a little neater than in that pic, as i have archery targets set up on the back wall. from my driveway to the back wall is 20 yards...if i cross the street, i can get out to 40 yards. it's good practice, and the back wall makes a very nice backstop if i should miss....which i rarely do inside of 40 yards.  :devil

My dream ... '63 Split Back Coupe

We need a "drool" smilie.  I would use it here.

87, 88 - same, same.  The G50 is a massive improvement over the 915.  That said, mine was a street car.  Basic upgrades... turbo torsion bars, 7's and 8's, etc, etc.  I miss that car.  The steering feedback was unreal.  You always knew exactly what the front end was doing.  Half of that was due to the lack of power steering, though.

My first guy took me out in his, at the time, brand-spanking-new 01 996TT and I can equate the sensation to a roller coaster.  I thought the acceleration was mental until I felt him under brakes and thought the front of my face was going to peel off.

Hey Saurdaukar next time you go to VIR lemme know.  It's only about 20 min from the house and I'm sure you either make the trip home or possibly stay in SoBo?  If you stay there, well that's where I live, I'll show you a couple of good places to get some food and/or adult beverages.

Will do.   :aok

We just got a 2005 VW jetta :D.

how many miles on it?

take it in to your shop, and have the thermostat, timing belt, and water pump(driven by the timing belt) checked if you don't know when they were done.

they very commonly go bad at around 40-50k miles.'

well .. we can start with the 'old days' .. ie: 1973 or so, runnin the valves on a Friday nite before hittin Central Avenue.
427 L-88, LS6 heads -ported, polished, shaved, thin copper head gaskets, 13 or so to one Compression ..ran on 110 octane Daeco, buck fifty a gallon and people useda think I was nuts payin that much then .. ROFL.
She was *fast* tho.. seemed like it took more time to shift than to actually run thru any gear,
..and I was very fast at it, then. People useda ask me if I was runnin an automatic.

Ya .. blue tinted windows . . red lights in the wheel wells . . cadillac mufflers or cherry bombs, depending on my mood.
I even bolted a wing on the trunk. People thought it was just some beater .. till I turned it loose in first gear.

The old 'Tom and Jerry' top fuel car, with a 327 and powerglide in it.
Speed shop I worked for, Don Graham the owner bought it..
Ran 9.20's as B/econo .. then we bracket raced it.
Made the bracket finals a coupla years .. was awesome, consistent car.

Then I got my 440 Duster up an runnin .. what a blast to drive :)
15+ years of bracket racing, cruisin, raisin hell, and yes .. even street racin.
I didnt lose often.

I still miss the Vette ..
Z-51, gears, nice exhaust, stickier tires than they come with, just a blast to drive
.. 13's in the quarter, 30mpg at 70, handled like a slot car ..amazing car.

Just a fine automobile..

..cant wait to get my next one.
