Less exotics, more Meat and Potatoes

This maybe an unpopular idea..but
perhaps there should be concentration on "basic" and different a/c types, rather
than diluting the game with sub variants
and exotic examples of the presently
modelled aircraft.
Sure maybe a Bf109K-14 or a P-47M would be nice..but the constant desire for powerful final versions detract from a/c which could "flesh" out the game more. ie:
French Curtis Hawks
Bf-110, He-111, He-117, P-40,
Hs-129, A-20, Beaufighter, Ju-87, Mosquito, G3M-Nell, Il-2, I-16 Rata, Me-410
Ki-45 Nick, Halifax, Wellington..
any number of Japanese Army, USN, Soviet airforce aircraft..
Even if the 262 is introduced, why not add the Arado 234B, Meteor to counter it

It may be easier to adapt, but is it better?

Hum, what would the first five be that the game needs, rather than the five that you would want, ie P-40 not P-51H or P-80.

Mine:
(/ as in B/C stands for "or")
Fighters
   P-40 B/C (and p-36)
   Bf 109E or earlier
   Ki43
   Hurricane MkI
   F4F-3
bombers
   He 111 or Ju 88A/B
   Wellington MkI/III
   SM.79
   G4M
   B-25B/C/D

Why eat boiled beef and potatoes when I can have filet mignon and lobster?

I think those newer versions of same plane are way easier to do.

If I would do Bf109 and would wan't to make different versions of it, I would just use the benefit of already made wireframe and manipulate it to match those slight changes of newer versions and put new paint on it.
I would probably also do detailed textures in another file so I could just easily put the camopaint on the plane simply by doing new pattern and then glue up details and camo.

So, I don't see anything wrong in that
Besides, I think your old plane fantasy belongs to WWII Online...
and newer plane fantasies to Aces High.

I would love to see the PTO open with early war stuff.  It would give players who like Japanese planes an historic advantage, and be a real change of pace from the MA.
