I'm no expert, but I'll point you in the right general direction.  Dkff49 created this helpful tutorial to use in conjunction with the editor's built in help function:  http://longhornloftbeds.com/share/ME_tutorial.pdf

Start simple.  Build a single mission file with one route and one flight.  Try a route to take off, fly out a few miles, return to base, and land.  Getting that far is a milestone accomplishment when you are new to the editor.  The first one is the hardest.

Here's a simple mission file to dissect and play with in the editor:

Unzip the file and place it in folder:  "C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\offmiss"

Then you can view, edit, and run the file "simple.mis' with the mission editor.
